Dance... there is so much to say about dance, and i know for a fact I wouldn't be able to tell whoever is reading this everyting they wanted to know. But I will tell you this... I've been dancing ever since I was four years old and I love it. I do it all the time, but it takes comitment. More commitment than I have. A dancer, even one who is not professional, must spend almost every day of the week practicing and perfecting what he or she is working on.

There are many different types of dance... for example, there is ballet, tap, jazz, ball room dancing, swing dancing, and many more. But all of these require practice. Ballet is one that has been around for a very long time. There is classical ballet, modern ballet, Russian ballet, and many more. There are mahy different types of shoes to dance in and they differ depending on the type of dance that you are dancing. Ballet requires point shoes, slippers, and if you are doing modern, you can dance without shoes. Tap reaquires tap shoes... duh. And Jazz requires jazz shoes. There are also many differnt types of point shoes, jazz shoes, and tap shoes. There are also character choes which many preformers use for the looks while preforming. A dancer usually practices in a loetard, tights and a skirt, but the skirt is not nessisary. But a jazz dancer usually just practices in jazz pants or shorts and a shirt. tap dancers usually just practice in anything. Then when preforming the director or coreographer picks costumes that fit with the dance and the preformance that will look most appealing from the audience.

A little bit about me and my experiences with dance. I have been dancing since I was four years old. I began taking classes at Marion Tracy and soon switched to Dance Conservatory. A few years later I again switched but this time to Central Delaware Dance Academy. There I coniued with ballet but took up jazz and tap. I grew to like them any mor although I had to quit jazz because of time issues and conflicting classes. I was put on point two years ago and a year later became an apprentice iin the DE ballet. This requires even more practice and dedication. One year later my scheduel became exteremely hactic and I became more and more stressed out and I had to quit ballet which took up most of my time... soon after I quit I realized... there is a life out there other than dance. I still do tap quite frequently and occasionally take ballet classes. I am also in a group called center Stage. This is a non profit group that travels around preforming. It is very enjoyable, and I love to see the smiles onthe crowd's faces when they watch us preform... it makes me feel better.
