 Community Colleges Bachelor Or Advanced Degrees At American UniversitiesWHY Continue Your Education Beyond High School?  Because the world is changing rapidly and many jobs rely on new technologies & skills that require education beyond high schools. Because an average person who obtains some level of postsecondary education will earn more money than a person who only completes high school. Because you will acquire a wide range of knowledge in many subjects that will help you insure your future success.WHAT Are Your Options? It's never too early to start planning for life after high school. If you've already decided to continue your education beyond high school or if you're still trying to make up your mind, you should consider all your options befor making your final decision. So what's it going to be? One of the University campuses? A state College? A two-year Community College?... A Pivate School, two years or four? YOUR Interests, Needs and Educational Goals Will Largely Determine Which School Is Right For You. One of the most reliable sources of information about any college or university is a personal visit. After all, where else can you get a better feel about a place than by taking a personal tour of the campus, talking with admission personnel, meeting other students, observing classes, meeting faculty and yes even sampling the food and candy. But how can you possibly visit every potential school, college or university? Most states have 30 or more colleges and universities and many states twice that many private schools. The answer is simple. Get out a pencil and list the things that are most important to you in achieving your goals. Nest, start whittling down that list of potential schools before you even begin thinking about scheduling visits. Answer the questions below to help you through this process. Does this school offer the program of study of most interest to me? How long will it take to complete this program? Is the schools program of study accredited by a professional association? What are the schools admission rquirements? Can I meet these requirements How much will it cost? (add all expenses such as tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies, entertainment & travel) Is financial aid available? How many students attend this school? Would I feel comfortable attending a school this size? Would I feel comfortable going to a school this size? What is the size of the city or town where this schoolis located? How far is it from my home? Do i know anyone who lives in the area? Do the school and community offer interesting activities outside of my studies? Is part-time work available? Will I be able to transfer credits from this school to another? Other important questions for me: write them down (now). |
