Now I cannot effectivly outline all the
tiny little details of the job system or tell you which job combinations
are the best. Im not being lazy- its just that each person should decide
how to best create a party. I know that its possible to beat the game using
none of the "special" characters, and its just as easy (or difficult
as the case may be) to win the game using only unique characters. What I
can do is outline some helpful tips for skill pairing and gaining levels.
Break ability+Two-swords ability
A character with these two abilites has the chance to use the break skill
twice. An excellent ability when there is a low chance of the break ability
working- this gives the character two shots at it. Also a good choice when
using power break, speed break, or mind break. If both attacks land, the
monster will be down 6 points instead of 3!
Break ability+Archer/Gunman
Any character with the ability to use a long range weapon can also use break
skills. Its useful with an archer, but just plain awesome using a character
that can use guns. It is quite satisfying to break all of an enemies equipment
before he can even reach you.
Any magic+Chakra+Half-MP
If the magic user is skilled enough, they can use Chakra not only to heal
themselves, but to refil their MPs. The Half-MP ability means that the mage
will not have to Chakra as often, but the Half-MP is not necessary.
Monk/Ninja+Equip armor
Very useful earlier on in the game, this gives a monk the knights
high HP in addition to the martial artist's destructive power.
Calculater+Magic AttackUP
The only way to make the calculator really effective
Wizard of Death
Early on in the game (around early chapter 2) equip a wizard with these
items: Silk robe, Fire rod, Magic AttackUP, Fire 1,2,3. With these items
and skills, my wizard can cast a fire spell and deal out upwards of 250
points of damage per hit. This is more than enough firepower
to destroy any enemy that is encountered this early on in the game.
Holy What?
The priests Holy spell can be just as powerful as Flare. This skill
can not only offset the priests weak fighting abilites by providing
a potent offensive spell, but is very valuble in a calulators lineup
as well.
Hes Got Guts
Do not forget to use Ramzas Guts ability later on in the game. The
Scream skill gives him a very effective boost in power (+1 Physical, +1
Magic, +1 Speed, +10 BP)
Gaining Levels Easily
In any battle, kill all of the enemies but one. Form a circle around him
to prevent his escape, then proceed to attack your own party. This is an
easy way to gain experience as long as you don't kill your own people.
Easy Level Gain and Job Points
Before you can do this you'll need to learn ACCUMULATE and (if possible)
the JP-UP skill. You also need at least one monk with the CHAKRA skill for
this to work. Walk across any green dot until you are attacked, then kill
all but one enemy. Next, find five squares that form an + and are on the
same height
level. Have the monk stand in the center with all other characters in the
adjacent squares. Use accumalte over and over, and when youre attacked just
use chakra to gain back your health. Repeat as desired.
Catch Monsters
To Do this you must have a Mediator with the skill Invitation. then when you go in to battle,
Use your skill to invite and you can get monsters. Note: when you have monsters, you will get eggs from them!
