This costume allows Spider-Man to have stealth mode by pressing L2. Alternately, successfully complete the game twice on any difficulty setting. Scarlet Spider costume Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "LETTER S" as a code to unlock the Scarlet Spider costume. Alternately, defeat Rhino in Level 3-1. Amazing Bagman costume Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "AMZBGMAN" as a code to unlock the Amazing Bagman costume. Peter Parker costume Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Run into a wall that has a "?" on it all in under one minute. Then, find Peter Parker in the Kraven room to unlock the costume. Note: This costume only allows two webbring cartridges. Alternately, successfully play the game through level 4-2. Quick Change Spidey costume Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "ALMSTPKR" as a code to unlock the Quick Change Spidey costume. Alternately, get more than 10,000 points in zip-line training mode. Note: This costume only allows two webbring cartridges. Full health Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "DCSTUR" as a code to give Spider-Man full health. Big head mode Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "DULUX" as a code to give Spider-Man a big head. Debug mode Select the "Special" option from the main menu, then choose the "Cheats" selection. Enter "LLADNEK" as a code to display debug information. Armored Spider-Man Unlock the Captain Universe costume. Go to the costumes and select it. Then, collect the Armored Spider-Man icon during the game to appear as Armored Spider-Man during the remainder of the game, including the intermission sequences. Hints Censored codes Enter an obscene word as a code. Spider-Man will appear in one of his costumes, punch the code, and another word will appear. Characters speak out Select a character in the gallery in special mode and press Square or Circle after Stan Lee finishes talking. Some characters will say something or perform an action. Fighting symbiotes If you are low on health and on the subway or fighting a large group of symbiotes, constantly create web-domes until they are all gone, or the sub stops. Defeating Carnage on the hard difficulty setting Immediately web-jerk him into the sonic field, and keep webbing him until he dies. Do this with the Symbiote Spider-Man or Captain Universe costumes, as they have unlimited webbing. Comic book locations Book Level Location 1 Bank Approach On top of the Fantastic Four Building. 2 Hostage Situation Under the chair in the cubicle. The cubicle is located on the second half of the level. 3 Stop The Bomb! After freeing the hostages, return to the hallway just prior to the first security door. 4 Race To The Bugle When the game cuts to the FMV of the two henchmen, you can find the comic on the right side of the big building. 5 Spidey vs. Scorpion After destroying all of the furniture in the room, the comic will appear in the middle. 6 Police Chopper Chase On the last building, look behind the box on the right-front. 7 Building Top Chase Inside the Goblin Crane Lair. 8 Scale The Girders On the left side of the building on the ledge. 9 Police Evaded The building with the skylights that get destroyed has the comic. Shoot the broken glass. It will be located behind the class. 10 Spidey vs. Rhino After destroying every barrel in the level you can find the comic in the middle of Electric Pylons. 11 Catch Venom Located on the incomplete building. 12 Catch Venom Located on the roof of one of the buildings. 13 Spidey vs. Venom Lift the car and toss it aside. The comic will appear. 14 Sewer Entrance This comic is located inside the first hallway. Walk to the Cavern and then return. 15 Sewer Cavern Behind the waterfall. 16 Sewer Plant Walk down the hallway and make your first left, walk to the end. 17 Hidden Switches Press the fourth switch and return to the third switch. 18 Tunnel Crawl Hit the switch on the first box, the comic will be in the second box. 19 The Lizard's Maze Talk to the lizard, the comic will appear near by. 20 Symbiotes Infest Bugle In the vent with the Hostage. 21 Elevator Descent Walk down the Hallway, it will be at the bottom-left. 22 Stop The Presses Lift and throw the stack of paper located on the second half of the level. 23 Bugle's Basement Shoot all four leaking pipes. The comic will become revealed when the furnace on the left explodes. 24 Spidey vs. Mysterio Destroy all of the target on the first stage, the comic will become visible on the bottom level. 25 Waterfront Warehouse Look in the alcove. 26 Waterfront Warehouse At the end of the level, just prior to opening the vent that leads to the next level, you must locate the hidden room behind the grating. It is the last grating before the end of the level. 27 Underwater Trench In the second machinery room is a hidden switch. Return to the part where all of the gun turrets are (at the beginning of the level) and access the secret door. 28 Stopping The Fog In the center column, a small room will be located in the bottom portion. 29 Spidey vs. Doc Ock It will appear after Doc Ock's shield regenerates the first time. It will only appear for a few seconds, so grab it quickly. 30 Spidey vs. Carnage In the middle of the bubble it will appear and disappear and then appear and then disappear. 31 Spidey vs. Monster-Ock At the first bend in the pipe. 32 Spidey vs. Monster-Ock About 3/4 of the way through the level. Amazing Bag Man Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Battle Wounded Spidey costume Defeat Electro for the first time. Ben Reilly costume Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Captain Universe costume Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Dusk costume Collect all 32 comic books. Insulated costume Do nothing except throw the serums at the Lizard on the hard difficulty setting. Negative Zone Spider-Man costume Play the level where you have to collect all the keys so that the bomb will not explode on the normal difficulty setting. Note: This also may work on the hard or easy difficulty setting, but will not under kid mode. Collect all four keys and put them into the bomb in the order in which you found the keys. The clock must also show more than 3 minutes remaining. Peter Parker costume Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Quick Change Spidey costume Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Scarlet Spidey costume Successfully complete the game two times in a row (select "Continue Game") on the normal difficulty setting. Spyro The Dragon Level select Pause the game, enter the "Inventory" menu, and press Square(2), Circle, Square, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, Up, Right, Down. Then, go to the balloonist to select any level in the game. Ninety-nine lives Pause the game, enter the "Inventory" menu, and press Square(6), Circle, Up, Circle, Left, Circle, Right, Circle. Crash Bandicoot: Warped demo When "Press Start" appears at the opening screen, press L1 + Triangle. Bonus level Collect all the gems in every level to access a bonus level. Faster running While playing a game, hold Run + Jump. Avoid dying Pause the game and exit the current level if faced with imminent death by falling. Note: This may not be done in the home levels. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage Abilities Pause the game and press Circle(4), Square to obtain the swimming, climbing, and headbash abilities without going to the respective levels and buying them from Moneybags. Big head mode Pause the game and press Up(4), R1(4), Circle to increase the size of Spyro's head. Flat mode Pause the game and press Left, Right, Left, Right, L2, R2, L2, R2, Square. Turn Spyro red Pause the game and press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Square, R1, R2, L1, L2, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up, Circle. Find Gems Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and Sparks will point you in the direction of the nearest Gem. Hints Extra lives An extra life is obtained for every ten butterflies Spyro eats. 10,000 gems Money Bags gives you all your gems that you paid him back after beating Ripto, thus giving you 10,000 gems if you collected all of them. Permanent Super Fireball You get to go to "Dragon Shores" after defeating Ripto. All 10,000 gems and 64 orbs are required to enter the door at that location. A permanent Super Fireball power-up is inside. After picking up the permanent Super Fireball power-up, finish "Dragon Shores" and exit the game. Then, without turning off the PlayStation, overwrite the character that was just used to complete the game. Restart the game and it should allow you to keep the Fire Ball ability from the very beginning. Summer Forest Idol Springs portal As you first enter the world, swim in the pond. At the far side is a tunnel to the first of three puzzles. To complete the first puzzle, jump on the squares to turn the blocks yellow. Jump on the four corners in any order. Then, swim out to the idol in the center of the pond. Blow fire at the fish as they leap out of the water. Only blow at the blue and orange fish. The red ones will deduct fish. At the last puzzle, jump on the blocks in this order: blue triangle, gray triangle, yellow star, orange octagon, and green star. Epilogue Complete all sixteen skill points to unlock the "Epilogue" section in the guidebook. This option reveals what happens after the game as well as enemies that were made but were not in the final version. Skill points After defeating Ripto, a "Skill Points" section will appear in the guidebook. If you complete certain tasks in the game, you will be awarded a skill point. There are a total of 16 skill points in the entire game. After accomplishing one of these tasks, a sound will play and a bonus life will be awarded. 1. In Colusus, get a perfect score. (5-0) while playing hockey 1 on 1. 2. In Idol Springs, glide and land on the big idol next to the hula girl. 3. In Fracture Hills, charge through the supercharge lap three times without stopping. 4. In Skelos Badlands, destroy all the Cacti. 5. In Skelos Badlands, kill all the flying CatBats. 6. In Aquaria Towers, destroy all the seaweed. 7. In Hurricos, destroy all the little windmills. 8. In Scorch, knock coconuts out of all the trees. 9. Defeat Crush without being wounded. 10. Defeat Gulp without being wounded. 11. Defeat Ripto without being wounded. 12. While fighting Gulp, shoot a rocket at Ripto. 13. Beat Ocean Speedway in under 1:10. 14. Beat Canyon Speedway in under 1:10. 15. Beat Metro Speedway in under 1:15. 16. Beat Icy Speedway in under 1:15. Moneybags' lessons Lesson Location Price Swimming Summer Forest near pond 500 Gems Climbing Autumn Plains near the sheep 500 Gems Headbashing Winter Tundra near courtyard 1000 Gems Speedway Orbs To earn the Orb in each of the four speedways you must first find the hidden task to perform. The game cannot be completed 100% without the Orbs. Ocean Speedway There is a large group of spectators, ahead and to the left as you begin the level. Fly to them and talk to the fish-like lady to acquire the task. Complete the task to receive an Orb. Metro Speedway Fly toward the large group of buildings. There is a waterfall in the center of them. Fly behind the waterfall to find a person that will reveal the task for the Orb. Icy Speedway Fly around the main island until you locate a igloo. Headbash the igloo and Hunter will give you the task for another Orb. If you have not learned the Headbash maneuver from World 3 (since this Speedway is on World 2), you can simply land and run into the igloo. The Speedway's automatically supercharges you when on the ground, giving you the power to break it. Canyon Speedway Follow the path of goats until reaching the area with the circling vultures. Fly high above to the canyon rim and look for Hunter in a little nook. |
