Hint: More bases advantage:
To have a better chance of winning, you might want to build more than one base. Enlarge the base you start out with, making it completely fortified with at least two castles. Then, send a scout cavalry, or some other fast moving unit, to the opposite side of the map from your base. After you have checked the area and confirmed that it is safe, send a villager to build a castle at that location and fortify that base. This is very helpful if your enemy knows where one of your bases are located, especially during online play.
Hint: Save resources:
When you are allies with others, do not build a market to avoid giving them resources.

Cheat menu:
Press L1 at the controller selection screen to activate cheats that have been bought.
Hint: Easy points:
You can gain "points" for certain feats performed during a game. An easy way to get a lot of points is to throw a perfect game. This is worth 100 points. Switch controls every time the CPU is up at bat and intentionally strike out. This will get you points for 27 strikeouts, and for a perfect game. Repeat as many times as needed.
To get more points in franchise mode to sign your free agents, during the off season either create a player and pick him up as a free agent or sign free agents and release them at the end of the season.
Hint: Control homerun replay:
After hitting a homerun, a replay of it will be displayed. When you see your batter heading home from third base, press various buttons to see different angles.
Hint: Better hitting:
Immediately after the pitcher releases the ball, press Start. You will see where the ball is going and if it will be a strike or ball. Resume the game and move your batting cursor over it to get a nice powerful swing. This will help you improve your hitting. Note: You do not need to press Start directly after he lets go of the ball -- it just gives you more time to move your cursor after the game is resumed.
Use the pause technique before batting. When you see where the ball is going, try your best to get the ball as close to the point of the contact triangle (the part closest to the batter, not the thick part of the triangle). you will usually get homeruns or at least doubles.
Wait until the pitcher's arm is in motion and is coming forward, then swing. If it looks like a bad pitch do not swing. This strategy woks most of the time, and works well with players such as Giambi, Bonds, or A-Rod.
Hint: Better pitching:
The best pitchers have a pitch called a "Slurve" (for example, Mark Burhele of the Chicago White Sox). Also try the "Dominate Curve" with Pedro.
Hint: Restore pitcher's energy:
In season, franchise or expansion mod, go to the DL, and put any pitcher on the15 day DL. Then immediately take him back into your lineup. He will have recovered all his energy.
Hint: Better franchise or expansion mode teams:
Use trades to get rid of your older less talented players for slightly better players. Even if the CPU rejects your trade, keep trying repeatedly and it is usually eventually accepted. However, make the trade reasonable, such as B- for a B or B+. If the player you really want just does not seem to want to join your team, try trading for another player who is slightly better, then return to that player you want and try again. Start an exhibition game. If you are starting from a clean slate (i.e. no cards), use the Cooperstown Legends and the Baltimore Orioles as the two teams. Have the Orioles as the home team to give the Legends a DH, and their pitching an extra half-inning to get more strikeouts. Set the controller icon to the Legends, and the difficulty to Veteran. Set your weather, game options, and lineup to however you like. Who you start (Ryan, Gibson, or Seaver) does not matter. Next, press Square to go to the "Control Setup" screen . Set all of the players to CPU control for offense and defense. Press X to exit, then press X again to start. You can now sit back and watch the points pile up. The only thing that would require your attention is in the event of an injury. Any of the Legends' starters can go the distance, netting you 10 easy points for a complete game. The offense usually has a field day and will give you lots of points for cards. Once you get the Glen Cove Islanders and the Fresno Pixels, the fun can really begin. Pick those two as your teams, and set up an exhibition game with the same set-up as above, using Glen Cove as your team. Sit back, and watch your boys pile on the offense. Be prepared for anywhere between 20 to 70 runs per game from your offense, with a couple of cycles and loads of home runs. Your pitching staff can give you a complete game shutout or (if your defense plays a bit off) a 1-run game, with no more than 5 hits allowed and over 10 strikeouts. You can get anywhere between 15 to 45 card packs per game.

Start a game and allow the controller to remain idel. After a few minutes after they have announced the lineups and the starting pitcher, Thom Brennaman will start telling in-depth stories about baseball.

Expert mode:
Select pro-career mode, then enter ALLOUTAI as a name. The game will return to the main menu to confirm correct code entry. Enter the name of your choice, then begin game play. After a few wrecks, it will become a challenge to attain first place.
Fast racers:
Select pro-career mode, then enter ALLQUIKI as a name. All racers will have the speed of the Ravage1000cc Quad ATV.

Select pro-career mode, then enter DINOSAUR as a name.
Ravage 1000cc Quad ATV:
Successfully complete the game in pro-career mode.
Preload:
To preload, press Down at bottom of a jump then press Up and to fly like a jet.
Tricks:
To do tricks, hold Triangle or Circle and move the Left Analog Stick or D-pad in any direction.
Quick resume:
Press L1 + R1 if you go off-track or crash to quickly resume the race.
Hint: Canyon Country: Jump on the train:
Go near the bridge that the train travels on. Go on the right side of it so you can see the train. When the time is correct, hit the gas and jump diagonally to try to land on top of the train. Watch your speed, preload meter, and the angle that you are jumping. Note: This trick is very difficult, and requires practice.
Go to the train station (located near the beginning, just follow the tracks), and go to the back of the station. There should be a wide stairway up to the first floor of the station. Go to the right and there should be another stairway. Go up this stairway and stop about half-way up the stairs (hold Brake to stop). Wait for the train to appear go forward fast and try to land on the train. Note: This may require several attempts. Once you get on, make sure you stay on by holding Brake. Also be also to be careful how fast you go on the stairs as you may fall off.
Hint: Canyon Country: Unlimited tricks:
Follow the train tracks until you see a large canyon on the left. Go into the canyon and make a left into the cave. Go to the end and you will see a pueblo house. Go slowly up the stairs, then make a right. Get on one of the ladders. You can balance on them to do unlimited tricks.
Hint: Crater Park: Unlimited tricks:
Go to Crater Park in freestyle mode and find one of the triangular tents. Slowly go up one side of the tent until you are stuck on top. You can now do as much tricks as you want. To get off, simply go forward very slowly.
Hint: Fort Roberts: Lookout tower:
Select "Cross Country Enduro" then choose the "Fort Roberts" level. Also choose the "Lap Attack", and "Long Race" options for the waypoint track. Choose a character and being game play. There should be a gray building in front of you at the fourth gate. Enter the open door. And as soon as you go in, turn right and go up the stairs. Go slowly, and when you get to the top, you will be in a hallway. Keep going until you see more stairs. Go up them very slowly. At the top, go straight to get to the lookout tower. Go slow and do not fall. Go through two doorways. Keep going straight, then go up one more staircase. You will now be up in the lookout tower. Remember, go slow as you can fall easily up there. If you fall, you will have to start all over.
Hint: Best setup for any ATV in Enduro and Free-Style Competition:
When selecting your ATV, be sure to customize your bike settings in the "Garage".

The best four wheeler, besides the bonus vehicle, is the Polaris 500.
The best four wheeler is the Havoc Razor. It is better than the Polaris 500 but worst than the bonus vehicle.
The best ATV is the Honda 400ex, but if you want a lot of power for the freestyle competition, you should use the Polaris 500. For racing you should choose the Yamaha Banshee.
The best ATV beside the bonus vehicle is the Havoc Proformer.
The best quads on the game are the Havoc Razor and the Polaris 500. The Ravage 1000 will beat those two in the long run, but the Havoc Razor and the Polaris 500 will beat the Ravage from the start to top end.
Hint: Getting new four wheelers:
Go to any race and win a championship. Go back to the championship you just won and go to the pro races. Two new quads will be unlocked.
Hint: Front wheelie:
Do is a regular wheelie, but immediately before you are about to flip over, press Clutch, Brake, and Forward on the Analog-stick or the D-pad. Note: This works best with the Ravage 1000.
Hint: "Walk" your four-wheeler:
Do a regular wheelie, but press Down/Left or Down/Right. You should go up on one wheel. Then, start rotating back in forth Down/Right or Down/Left (depending on which way you started), while always watching your speed. It is a little tricky at first. Note: This works best with the Banshee.
Hint: Quick turns:
Take the inside and use the clutch (L1) for a quick turn.
Press Up and the direction you want to drive while accelerating.
Hint: Burnout:
Go in reverse then release Square (Brake). You will see the dirt in the air. This works best with the Havor Razor.
Hint: Return to track at high speed:
Go to freestyle mode and on any level go off the track and keep going. You will eventually find a huge fall and then a hill of about the same size (do not fall off). After the hill you should notice that the landscape turns flat. Drive along here and after a short time you should be sent flying back to the track at high speed.
Glitch: Odd camera angle:
Hold R1 + L1 + camera Analog-stick Forward. The view will zoom in to about six inches away. It is difficult to steer, so exercise caution.

Knock out the thug at the start of the level. You should see the glowing item on the left when you start. Climb the ladder and jump/glide around the crate onto the other crate. Then, glide onto the platform with the letter.
Hint: Gasworks: Envelope E:
You will reach a room with two levels, each floor with two goons on them. First, take out the goons. Then, look around on the lower floor until you see a sewer pipe with boxes in the sewage. Carefully glide down and land on the first box. Jump over the next few boxes and pick up the envelope with an "E" on it. Finish the game and the "Infinite Health" cheat will be unlocked.
Hint: Plant Electrocution 2: Envelope C:
You will start the Plant Electrocution 2 level by sliding down towards some holes in the ground. The second hole is not fatal. Fall into it and glide (to avoid minor damage). You will see a lit area. Glide down there and pick up the item you find inside. Use the grapnel to exit, jump out of the hole, and finish the slide. The item you picked up should be the key do the door right beside the vines behind the glass. Go inside and fight one of the "Plant Men". You will find an envelope that has a "C" on it in the room. When you finish the game, you can activate this cheat for all weapons and unlimited ammunition.
Hint: Rooftop Battle: Envelope A:
When the clowns chase Mary, you will go up to the rooftops. Grapple hook up to her roof and beat up the white clown. Go up to the next roof, where you are on a little balcony. Jump across, then go in to see a thug run across a hall with the girl. Follow and he will jump off the roof. Follow, look down, and drop to lowest edge. Walk along to left until at the corner the grapple icon appears Grapple over, go in the door and pick up Envelope A.
Hint: SWAT Chase: Envelope D:
You will enter the elevator shaft. Ride the elevator all the way down until it stops. Get off the elevator and wait for it to rise again. After it rises, jump down to the bottom and use first person mode to find the control box. Use a Batarang to disable it and the door behind it will open. Stay clear of the elevator and wait for the correct time to get in the open room. Inside the room is "Secret Key 2." Get out of the room and ride the elevator up to the top. At the top there is a door that is supposed to be locked. The key opens the door, and inside is an envelope with the letter "D" on it. Finish the game and the "Infinite Special Move Bar" cheat will be unlocked.
