Six Flags Over Georgia has finally dared us to put our "feet to the fire" on their new Georgia Scorcher® stand-up rollercoaster. Scheduled to open this Spring, the Bolliger & Mabillard-designed Georgia Scorcher will rise107 feet and carry 32 Thrillseekers over a 3,000-foot-long course in purple bullet-nosed trains. The Scorcher's purple and gold structure and track will twist through three inversions after making an initial 101 foot dive. We'll first feel the burn as we soar through an 81-foot-tall vertical loop. The rest of the three minute trip will include an inclined loop, a high speed spiral crossing the vertical loop, a camel-back hill, a corkscrew and a tight figure-eight. Top speed will be 54 miles per hour and we'll pull 4 Gs barreling through that final figure-eight.
The Scorcher will be SFOG's eighth coaster, joining the Dahlonega Mine Train, The Great American Scream Machine® woody, the MindBender®, The Georgia Cyclone®, Ninja®, Viper® and Batman: The Ride®. Grab some asbestos footwear and prepare for an opening Spring 1999. But if ya can't "stand" the heat... Jump outta' the seat!
