You have fallen through the earth into a large underground
room. You look up and see that the ceiling had been caving in and it was your
weight that had finally broken through. This is a large room that looks to have
been used as a meeting place. To the North is a beautifully decorated wooden
door that says Masters Quarters. To the East is another door not as nice but
still quite decorative that says it is the Guests Quarters. West and South are
exits to other areas.
Skeletal Knight:
"Psst child this way... come closer please. I have something to say to you.
You have been unfortunate to fall into this awful place. However, you are here
and could do a service of good.
Will you help a save this wretched place and my wretched soul?"
Choose "Yes, I would be glad to how can I help?"
Skeletal Knight: "To Save us you must kill Jala and put an end to his madness.
You will need Jala's Golden key to get to him. I alone hold the knowledge of
its whereabouts. In order to obtain this information from me you are going to
have to do a favour for me to free my soul from the torture and control of Jala.
You see Jala keeps me in this world to serve him and tortures me for my crusades
against him. The sounds you hear are the sounds of the dead dwarves he slaughtered
here. Find the talisman of the dead and you shall have what you desire. You
might want to try Southeast of here."
Go South then East
Fight:
3 Zombies
(Total: 1200 Exp. and 180 Gold)
After the fight, if you choose to rest here, a trap will
hit you, but you can then rest again safely.
Go South
Switch of the Damned: Flip to off | Death | Pain
Switch to pain, a trap will hit you for anything up to and above 50
Go North, you can rest here after the pain of the trap
Go East
Fight: 1 Minor Lich
After the fight, flip the Death Pit Switch to on
Go West, a trap will hit you.
Go South, the same trap as before, keep resting until satisfied with a low hit
South again
Fight:
3 Gargoyles
(Total = 4500 exp, 300 gold)
Pick up the Talisman of the Dead.
Rest again, then go North, that same trap will hurt, North, West and North again
will bring you back to the
Skeletal Knight:
"Ah thank you child, now my soul may rest. You will find what you are looking
for over in the Masters Quarters. The secret switch is hidden in the guest room
to the east."
Ask if he has any more information that may help you
Then go East
Flick the switch to the Masters Quarters on
Go West then North into a Fight: 1
Stone Guardian
Pick up Jala's Golden Key, this is also where none Wizards/Psionics can pick
up the Bow of Demon Power or Bow of Exorcism, depending on your class
Go South, West, North and North again
Fight:
3 Flesh Hounds
(Total: 1500exp, 240 gold)
Dont bother with the Root of the Dead, it heals hit points
for potion points, that being minus 25!
To the East there is a Makeshift Sign: "Beware,
only fools enter here!"
Go East
Fight: 1 Guard of Jala
After the fight, you can read the inscription carved
in the door: "This gate bars the world from the
dangers within. Only the gold key of Jala can get beyond it. For whoever does
hold the key of Jala this warning is issued. From within, the mind ensnared,
then evil shall rule over the soul."
Use the key in the Golden Keyhole and go East through the door.
Go East again, South twice and then East once more to talk to the Mind Snatchers:
One of the people gets up and moves toward you. "So the gods have sent us a
feast friends."
Choose "Oh you are going to die"
Some times they dont fight so you are okay, but here spellcasters can pick up
the book of Mind Warp (8d60, 120SP)
Go West and then continue South, hit the Stone Switch
A door opens to the East, go in and get the Rune Ward Key
Then go West and again continue South,
This time you will meet Jala Demon Mage
Talk:
"WHO DARES TO DISTURB MY WORK? I'll give you two options. One, leave now and
keep your life or two die this very day."
Choose: "Come get some..."
Fight: 1 Jala
Once you have killed Jala, you can go down to the next
Death Caverns Level
