A parody on "Imagine" by John Lennon
"If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied." I Corinthians 15: 19
In that day the LORD GOD of hosts
called to weeping and mourning,
to baldness and putting on sackcloth;
but instead there was joy and festivity,
killing oxen and slaughtering sheep,
eating meat and drinking wine.
"Let us eat and drink,
for tomorrow we die."
Isaiah 22: 12-13
Imagine theres no heaven, Uneasy, now am I.
No Lord to know us, to love and for us die.
Imagine all the people living in dismay.
Imagine all the fun sprees, the poor discarded too.
Just live for thrill and buy more. Theres nothing else to do.
Imagine all the people, trying to grab their piece.
You may see that its a nightmare, but without the only son.
Wed grope all day and never find us, and the world would look out for number one.
Imagine now, expressions, of selfless love began
As freed from greed we hunger, to serve the Son of man.
Imagine all the people, caring for the world.
A world without the Lord cant get there, it can only live for "me"
But now well try to live for others, because he died to set us free
