Lord of my life!
by John Crable

I am reminded by a story about the late D.L Moody, that there are several ways a man can choose to
live his life. First ,however we need faith in Jesus Christ! Moody a preacher and evangelist was born in Massachusetts in the early 1800's.
When asked by several evangelist what it was that had driven Moody to be so successful at
spreading the message of the Gospel, Moody replied" Look out that window into that park across
the street gentleman and tell me what you see? These three men in his office came to the window and glared at the park
across the street! This day the park was filled with many people going about their everyday lives!
The first man replied: " I see a park and lots of people!, then the second man replied with much the same
answer . The third man also gave an observation of the park, and all that was going on in its borders!
Just then Moody answered and said " I don't see that, but what I do see is souls that are going to burn
in the depths of hell without a relationship with God ,and our Lord Jesus Christ!" This answer was stunning,
coming from a man that is said to have led a multitude to the Lord! When I myself heard the story of Moody, told to me by a friend, I realized the same desire that burned within him was a little like what I had experienced!
When God came into my life I had a huge desire to bring others to the Lord by way of his Gospel!
I preached and preached and as the days went on I noticed that some would listen and others will not!
Now I haven't stopped preaching! I just realize that much of it falls upon deaf ears!
This burning desire however pressed down upon me the significance of a life ,and desire to live to the Lord!
My passion comes from God's word ,and throughout it you see that satisfaction in God only comes from following the direction he gives! My life has been structured around serving him and while it may not always be visibly evident that is my biggest desire ! My life should mirror a desire to keep God's commands and stand for his truth!
I am not perfect, but I know that a life spent serving God will be more fulfilling than a life spent serving
the world! Let's face it if God "is" who he said he is, God judges according to his word!" The bible that has been laid upon your table will judge you! There is an hypocrisy today in America and around the world of many who realize what
God wants ,and yet deny that very same truth (bible) and relationship with him! If the Christians in this world are not imitating Christ than what
can they expect the outcome will be? Paul Washer an evangelist and world missionary who has covered most parts of the world said that " I will tell you things that will make you mad at me, things that you will not want to hear!" Paul wept in prayer as he spoke to a youthful audience years ago of about five thousand teenagers! He said
"You will know them by the fruits of their labors....." this is what the bible says ,and yet he says "your not doing these things" or most of you are not! If this is the case than you are going to hell! He didn't stop there he said that some were sitting aloof to his message thinking that they knew God. He broke open the bible and related more passages to them!
Like this one from the Book of John:
"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12)
Darkness is the problem here that these children faced yet clearly many of them thought they new Jesus and had said that five second prayer. Yet Paul again rushed in and said that a life in darkness, and in those sorts would not follow a true conversion to Christ!
Basically Paul let them know the truth yet he explained that it is because he loved them that he spoke as he did! The truth is so important he stressed that it was the most loving thing we could give to someone! The message Paul was conveying was a simple yet utterly convicting truth!
Preaching in the United States today has become a billion dollar industry ! The problem however that
many Americans face is the "feel good" message they are often receiving in church! Paul the Apostle of Jesus
Christ rebuked the Churches of Asia for the many things they did that were not serving the Lord! Most of his messages were not of the feel good kind! Yet today
has the Church become a whole lot better than in Paul's time! Have the body of Christ sought to do only the things of God! John Chapter 8 tells us "Truly if you remain in my word you are my disciples, You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free!" According to a Gallup poll released in 1997 only 16% percent of Americans read their bibles daily! Writing to the young evangelist Timothy, the Apostle Paul spoke of the genuine faith that was in him, and also in his mother and grandmother. Paul encouraged Timothy that "from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15).
Today as I sit here typing out another commentary of probably the hundreds I have completed for my website, I wonder? Will their be someone out there who gets it! When I started my website back in late 2005 early 2006 I did it with the aspiration that I may help one other person with God's influence on my life! In so doing this I knew that one other person desiring to serve God, and learning maybe just a few principles from this ministry
was a hundredfold return that now couldn't be measured as a life that is changed!
I have made controversial statements and even made statements in commentaries that
make the feel good message crumble around your ears! The message I hope and pray I always preach is the same one that the Apostle Paul instructed the Church of Corinth!

"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."(1st Corinthians 1:17-18)
Your right Paul it is foolishness to those who are perishing! According to Gallup, the same poll reached a figure of 47% percent of people today which do not read their bibles at all!
This was up from 30% percent in the early seventies according to that same poll!
We are a Nation turning from God, we raise our flags and we shout halleluiah!
I don't know of anything that spews more garbage than a television and yet we
will entertain that before God's word! I see the world as it really is with the need
for a Savoir! If your not seeing that very same need and do not have that conviction that
you need a Savoir, like Paul Washer said you're going to hell! I preach it and you may not exactly like it but it is the truth, and who is it that loves you more? I bet it is someone who would tell you the truth!
Now I am not going to lead you in the Sinner's Prayer ,but it is available on the home page of CLJC. Ministries I suggest if your convicted in your heart that the world is becoming a cesspool of degradation which in part it is, that if you pray that prayer
to Jesus that you take it to heart and I really mean that, take it to heart! A man's wisdom to God is folly but he will exalt the humble of heart and those who choose him in their own weakness! Jesus is ready to receive you no matter what it is that you've done against
God, his word ,or humanity! Nothing is to to far from God that he will turn you away,
Jesus is the answer, the cross Jesus died upon for your sin and the suffering have implications, the resurrection in its power to overcome death and to bring us eternal salvation. Just remember as this commentary has mentioned that when you receive the King of Glory your life is going to look different! Otherwise you might need another sermon from Paul Washer!
