Dust off your overalls and polish your hoe. Natsume's unusual farming RPG is on the shelves in Japan and heading our way. When Harvest Moon premiered on the Super NES in 1997, many gamers turned up their noses at the idea of an RPG game based on operating a farm. But even in the shadow of the revolutionary N64 this off-beat game whipped up quite a stir and a loyal following of dedicated hard working farmers! If you missed the fun of Harvest Moon for Super NES, you owe yourself a shot at the good life on Nintendo 64. The new edition is based on the same premise as the original: your parents leave you alone on their dilapidated farm, and your goal is to turn it into a successful enterprise, find a wife, and live happily ever after. Like in real life, this is easier said than done.
On top of the superior graphics available on Nintendo 64, Harvest Moon 64 will feature:
-New Tools
-A Larger Gameplay World
-Part-time Jobs
-Horse Racing
-Dog Racing
-50 Characters
-5 Potential Wives
-New Holidays and Special Events
The original Harvest Moon encouraged you to raise cows and chickens, and the new version adds more livestock and random wildlife to discover throughout your land. New vegetables have also been included to increase your cash crop choices. The screens on this page were taken from the completed Japanese version of the game. The U.S. version is scheduled to be translated and ready for release this Summer. We'll have much more information on this promising Pak soon, but if you get desperate you can always resurrect your old Farm Aid videos. |
