Hi !
Come on in and thanks for stopping by. The purpose of this web site is to share my passion and enthusiasm for the films and stars of the "Golden Age of Hollywood."

It was a great time in film history. The studio system put out one film after another. MGM, led by Louis B. Mayer, boasted "More Stars than there are in Heaven." They were the richest and most powerful studio at the time. Some of their stars included Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, Joan Crawford and Myrna Loy. Paramount was the most European of the studios. They brought in foreign-born directors along with American director, Cecil B. DeMille. They had stars like Gary Cooper, Claudette Colbert, Cary Grant and Marlene Dietrich. Warner Bros. were more in tuned with the working class. They had a cycle of gangster movies and bio-pics, like "The Story of Louis Pasteur" (1936) and "The Life of Emile Zola." (1937) RKO Radio Pictures policy was to produce films capitalizing on its contract stars, like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, Katherine Hepburn, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Lucille Ball. 20th Century-Fox was formed in 1935, with stars like Shirley Temple, Loretta Young and Tyrone Power. Columbia was a smaller studio and had the films of Frank Capra. Universal Pictures had Deanna Durbin, among others. Universal also became associated in the public's mind with horror films. Later, Columbia would join Universal.

During the "Golden Age of Hollywood," there were so many wonderful films and so many great screen legends. This site is about a few of them. Please stop by often. Let us always remember and appreciate all of the wonderful stars and films during this era in film history.
