JT’s Essential 10 Favorite Games of All Time:

10)NBA Jam (Arcade)
During my elementary school days, I was an arcade rat. I'd have to cross 95th Street to get to PGN (not the easiest task when you're still small) and I'd bum around the NBA Jam machine. I think I was had like 55 wins and 15 losses until I finally outgrew the arcade, but those were memorable times. Oh how I wish I was small again...

9)Half Life: Counter Strike (PC)
You have to hand it to a game that can suck you in so far as to have you drive 45 minutes out of your way, pay $2.50 in tolls, and force you to pay $3.00 an hour to play. I was torn between this game and NBA Jam for the arcade and I approximated how much money I’ve spent playing this game and Jam, and CS won out by an approximate fortune...

8)Zelda (Nintendo)
The birth of our favorite green-suited elf, Link. This game was absolutely mind-blowing when it was first released for the Nintendo. And though the graphics are outdated, and you’re not doing anything overly complicated, Zelda remains my gaming standard for how a game should be made fun, and nothing else.

7)X-Wing (PC)
The first of 2 space combat similator games that I played, enjoyed, and got addicted to until my computer shit out on me. Funny part is this game wasn't even mine until Joey Hillard introduced me to it. I haven't played another Star Wars game since then for some reason. Maybe I should look into some of them...

6)Gran Turismo (Playstation)
I pulled all-nighters on school nights with Joey Hilliard just to pass the tracks, liscences, and unlock all the cars. How many all-nighters on school nights you just simply would not believe. This is by far the most important racing game of all time. I know this cuz I wasn’t a racing fan before I bought this game. Damn that was a lot of hours I spent playing this...

5)Wing Commander 2 (PC)
The original Wing Commander is supposedly a top 10 PC game of all time on almost every gamers list over the age of 35, but not having played that, they’ll have to settle for Wing Commander 2. However, if Wing Commander 2 is anything like the original, I can totally see where they’re coming from. This was the PC game that totally opened my eyes to computer gaming. The flight combat was intense, the storyline might be the best ever, and I don’t think I was ever excited to play a game in my life. However, the real mystique about this game is that I only got 10% into it before my computer blew up on me, but that 10% was so good, this game managed to take the #4 slot. Had I gotten to play more of it, I know it might have been the best game ever...

4)Street Fighter 2: Turbo (Super Nintendo)
The gold standard in fighting games. The game by which every fighting game should be measured upon. The game that made Mortal Kombat and Tekken. Need I really say more? Engrossing from the first time you play it, up to the days you are fighting to go unbeaten on level 7. If only the sequels lived up the potential of this game, the fighting game genre might be the best genre in the world right now...

3)Final Fantasy 10 (Playstation 2)
Here we go. The first of the 3 great Final Fantasies in descending order according to quality and fun. First off, this game is just absolutely fucking gorgeous. If you told me 10 years ago that in the future RPG characters would actually LOOK realistic and not blocky sprites like back in the ancient Dragon Warrior and Ultima days and that those same characters could actually TALK and you wouldn't have to read an ounce of text in an RPG, I'd have slapped you in the face and called you a liar. This game is fucking awesome presentation wise. The storyline rivals those of big budget movies. There are over well over 100 hours worth of things to do. Even after you complete the main quest, you still have a world of things to do and secrets to unlock. You can partially blame this game for my failure at Eastern. I wouldn't trade the experience of this game for good grades. Neither should you.....

2)Final Fantasy 7 (Playstation)
The most beloved of all Final Fantasies by far, they're even making a movie sequel to it. This is the game that introduced the RPG genre to an entire generation of gamers. To most RPGers, this is their Cadillac of RPGs. I wouldn't argue with them because this game can and will leave an impact on you after you're done with it. Hell, I've played through it multiple times and the mystery and mystique of the game STILL has an impact on me to this day. Now if Gaulin and I could only find a working disc 3.....

1)Final Fantasy 3 (Super Nintendo)
This was the first video game I think I ever truly fell in love with. This was the first game where I really felt emotion in a video game. 12 powerful characters, 2 massive worlds to comb through, 1 really really fucking hatable and evil villain, and an opera scene. Come now. It's got an opera scene for god's sake. AN OPERA SCENE!.....

JT's Essenetial 10 Favorite Movies of All Time:

10)Resident Evil
The ultimate guilty pleasure experience. Call me an asshole, but this movie really does have that "B-Movie" feel, just with a big budget and big names. And there's also the thing with Mila Jovovic and the hot-ass outfits that she sports. Not bad for a "B-Movie".

9)Enter the Dragon
Hey. I’m Asian. I like martial arts. This is the best martial arts movie ever made. This makes the Asian in me very happy. It’s as simple as that.

8)Rocky
The Rocky series isn’t about boxing. It’s about relationships and going the distance. This is the best Rocky and always will be the best Rocky even when they make the Rocky where he’s old, gray, and fighting Ivan Drago’s great grandson.

7)High Fidelity
Want to delve into a guy’s mind for 2 hours? Enough said.

6)Return of the Jedi
Not the BEST of the Star Wars movies (Emprie Strikes Back was the BEST), but this one is by far the MOST ENJOYABLE. Luke takes his big glowing stick and saves the universe, just like in every man’s fantasy.

5)Swingers
The ultimate guy singles relationship movie. This movie has it all for single guys including the fancy parties, kicking clubs, NHL Hockey, the arrogant manwhore, and the quiet shy guy. This is a can’t-miss movie if you fancy any of those things.

4)Good Will Hunting
I’m all about the sappy/clever combo in movies, and Good Will Hunting seems to have that combo well made. You have to ignore the Boston accents, and the fact that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are in it, but other than that, it’s your standard Kevin Smith produced masterpiece.

3)Memento
Highly original and thought provoking, Memento’s plotline is as complicated as it gets. Then again, Momento is just as complicated as it is, AWESOME.

2)Chasing Amy
By far the saddest movie of all on this list, it is that very reason why this movie is so great. Holden embodies everything I used to be, and I love the character and the movie for it.

1)Clerks
Forget the untypical ending, the cleverness of the characters, the flawless dialogue, the low budget, the personal tragedy, the unparalleled humor, and the debut of Jay and Silent Bob. You need to watch this movie just for the dick jokes…..

JT's Essential 10 Favorite Athletes of All Time:

10)Carl Lewis
The greatest track athlete of all time. Held world records in the 100m dash and long jump.

9)Andre Dawson
MVP in 1987 while playing for the Chicago Cubs, Dawson was a feared man in his day. He had a cannon for an arm and was just a really fucking intimidating guy.

8)Bo Jackson
Bo knows baseball. Bo knows football. Remember that stuff? As great as an athlete he was ON the field, he was a better one OFF the field, ie. Tecmo Super Bowl for Nintendo.

7)David Beckham
A rather overrated soccer player, he's more of a pop figure than an athlete in my eyes. But if you can dress as well as this man can, and can play a sport as well as this man can, I'll put you on this list as well.

6)Jeremy Roenick
It's all about the early 90's Blackhawks teams that under and overachieved. It's also all about how unstoppable Roenick was in all of the Super Nintendo and Sega NHL games. Watch the movie "Swingers" for more details.

5)Scottie Pippen
Brought athelticism and versatility into basketball. Though he was a better sidekick than a leader, most franchises would have sucked dick to have this "sidekick" on their squad.

4)Mike Tyson
Had he not lost of Evander Holyfield way back in 1990, or had any problems outside of boxing, he'd be the greatest boxer that ever lived. Remember Mike Tyson's Punchout?

3)Walter Payton
One of the 2 best running backs that ever lived, I would rank him higher than this, but I didn't get to see him play enough.

2)Ryne Sandburg
Had spectacular years for the Cubs, but has been forgotten in recent memory. Went out and did his job and neither expected or received praise for any of what he did.

1)Micheal Jordan
No athlete even comes close to this man. He played basketball better than anyone else in the world did ANYTHING... to steal the line from the Sports Century.
