I've got this friend, Lisa, that likes this guy, Ryan. Lisa is months off of a relationship and for reasons that I can't possibly comprehend, can't draw a decent guy's attention. Here she is, brilliant, attractive, wonderful personality, and perfectly available. Yet, she's convinced that she won't find the proper man to be with so far to say that she's starting to consider becoming a nun.
Ryan enters the picture. A sweet, funny, hot little stallion in Lisa's eyes. They talk and flirt around in the workplace. There is a chemistry forming. Fun times are had by all and they enjoy each other's company, thoroughly.
But of course, in typical female fashion, Lisa starts to get funny thoughts. Things are too good to be true... this can't possibly last... he won't make a move etc. etc. And I must say, while this is perfectly normal in a lot of cases, there comes a point in time where enough is enough.
Ladies.....
It's time to take matters into your own hands.
So things seem too good to be true. SO WHAT? Play it out, have fun while you can and make it a short little fling if you think something is up, and odds are anyway, there is no reason why the situation is too good to be true. There's always that little conflict that arises. The girl he's seeing back at DePaul, the coworker that might possibly have a thing for him. It's never anything that can't be handled and talked through if the total connection between the 2 of you is there. Be selfish. Claim him as your own, and let the guy handle his baggage. Guys can handle themselves in situations like this. You may not believe this, but 99 out of 100 times, we know EXACTLY who we want to be with despite having multiple options at our disposal... NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION. Ryan has some options, some are better than others, but none are better than Lisa. He knows that, and I have full confidence that he will act as if he knows that and follow through ensuring this will be more than a 3 week fling and there's no reason why women out there shouldn't be confident as well.
And about the whole him not making a move so you're official? How about YOU make the move. Lisa didn't help herself in the early stages of the chase by saying "MAYBE" to an offer to accompany Ryan to a Blink 182 concert, and her stupidity has caused her to be set back and few days and have some regret. Be aggressive. Even Lisa saying "Yes." may not have been the boldest of moves. However, a reply such as "I would LOVE to go with you to Blink," or "Hey! I was gonna ask you first!" would hold much more potential, and the guy would see you in a stronger limelight for it. Regret occurs whenever women don't take advantage to what's given to them and after regret, comes the bitching and moaning. Same can be said for guys, but guys don't cry at breakfast, lunch, AND dinner over it. Just go for it. You really like the guy? Do something about it! Don't let him think about it, give him a reason to stop thinking and start acting on you. It's better to be on the move acting than to be sitting on your ass and thinking. Worry about complications later. Not to mention unlike guys, you women out there don't say stupid things. And what may be considered stupid in your mind, could be nothing to us. You won't drive us away unless you become a complete stroke.
In the end, it's all about pride for women. "Oh, I won't make a move, that's the guy's job." Holding such pride in one's womanhood is old fashioned and should be banished to hell without parole. And no sooner is an old fashioned statement like that made than the ever popular "What does she have that I don't!?" Women's pride ends up in the shitter anyway.
Odds are what she has that you don't is the guts to put the pride in womanhood aside and take the shot at the guy she wants. Confidence and genuine pride go hand in hand. If you have pride in the person that you are, the confidence to nail that special guy is there too. Confidence and pride in womanhood go hand in hand as well. But that equates to more of a large ego and a superiority complex.
If you have the right kind of pride, you will have the right kind of man. Lisa has all the pride in the world and the best man to go along with it.
