Here are the Walkthrough's by sections.

Yellow/Blue/Red

Pallet Town - Vermillian City

Pallet Town
After leaving your house, head toward the north. When you reach the grass, Prof. Oak will stop you and take you to his lab. Prof. Oak will have you choose from three Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. After you pick one, Prof. Oak's grandson, Gary, will challenge you to a battle. Before you head to Viridian City, stop at Gary's house and get a town map from Gary's sister. When you get Oak's Parcel later in the game, bring it to him and Prof. Oak will give you a PokéDex.

Viridian City
The first thing to do in Viridian City is to get Oak's Parcel and bring it back to Prof. Oak. Maybe visit the Poké Center to heal your Pokémon. Much later in the game you'll want to come back here to fight the final Gym Leader, Giovanni.

Viridian Forest
Viridian Forest is one of your first chances to catch some wild Pokémon. Most of them are bugs, but sometimes something else may pop up. Later in the game when you have an extra Abra that you don't need, you can trade it for a Mr. Mime in one of the houses. There is also another house were you can pick up HM 05 (flash). However you need at least 10 Pokémon to get it, and you have to beat Brock before you can use it.

Pewter City
When you get to Pewter City, heal your Pokémon at the Poké Center, then go to Brock's Gym to battle to win your first badge. Read more about Brock on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page.

Mt. Moon/Cerulean City
Make your way through the caves of Mt. Moon to Cerulean City. Go to the Cerulean Gym to face Misty. Read more about Misty on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. After you get the fishing rod and catch a Poliwhirl, trade the common Poliwhirl to the guy who will give you the rare Pokémon Jynx. There is a bike shop that wants $1,000,000 for a single bike. Come back to the shop later when you receive the bike voucher to get one for free.

S.S. Anne
To get onto the S.S. Anne, you need to have a ticket. To get a ticket, head to Bill's house above Cerulean City. Bill will give you the ticket you need to board. Once you're on the ship, you will meet lots of water Pokémon trainers who want to battle. One Pokémon trainer will trade a FarFetch'd for a Spearow.

Vermillion City
The Vermillion City Gym Leader is Lt. Surge. Read more about Lt. Surge on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. Vermillion City is where you get the fishing rod, which you can use to catch many water Pokémon.

Lavendar Town - Fuchsia City

Lavendar Town
Go through the rock tunnel East of Cerulean City to reach Lavendar Town. Lavendar Town is where the Pokémon Tower is located, but you'll want to come back after you have defeated the next Gym Leader. In the Pokémon Tower you will find ghost Pokémon, which work well against psychic Pokémon.

Celadon City
Take the underground passage from Lavendar Town to Celadon City. Go to the Celadon Deptment Store and get some water from the vending machine to give to the thirsty guards. The Gym Leader of the Celadon Gym is Ericka. Read more about Ericka on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. After you defeat Ericka, go to the Team Rocket hideout and get the Silph Scope. Also make sure to stop at the Pokémon Mansion and get an Eevee. Next head back to Lavendar Town and get a ghost Pokémon from the Pokémon Tower.

Saffron City
There are two gyms in Saffron City. One is a fighting dojo for fighting Pokémon, and the other is the official gym where you will face Sabrina. Read more about Sabrina on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. At the fighting dojo, you will battle five fighting Pokémon trainers. When you defeat all five, you will have the choice between two Pokémon: Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee.

Fuchsia City
The Safari Zone is the highlight of Fuchsia City. In the Safari Zone you can catch many types of Pokémon. There is no battling in the Safari Zone. You try to distract the Pokémon and then catch it. Next, go the Fuchsia Gym to face Koga. Read more about Koga on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page.

Seafoam Island
Seafoam Island is the perfect place to find water and ice Pokémon. In the caves below, you will find the legendary bird Articumo. Use a Pokémon that will not knock out Articuno, but one that will last. Throw some Ultra Balls once Articuno's HP is low enough.

Cinnabar Island
On Cinnabar Island, you will battle the Gym Leader Blaine. Read more about Blaine on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. Make sure to go to the Pokémon Lab to have the fossil you received earlier into a Pokémon. Now it is time to head back to Viridian City.

Viridian City
Fight Giovanni in the Viridian Ciy Gym. Read more about Giovanni on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page. After defeating Giovanni, head toward Victory Road. Your rival, Gary, will stop you and challenge you to another match. He's already fought the Elite 4 and wants to give you a preview of what's ahead.

Victory Road
To make it down Victory Road, use the boulders to hold the pressure plates open. There are two routes throught Victory Road, one leading right to the Elite 4, another taking a detour to the legendary bird Moltres. Moltres is as hard to capture as Articuno, so save before you approach him! At the end of Victory Road is Indigo Plateau and the Elite 4. Read more about the Elite 4 on the Gym Leaders/Elite 4 page.

Final Battle
Gary challenges you again after you defeat teh Elite 4. This will be the toughest battle in the game, so be prepared. What Pokémon Gary has depends on what Pokémon he starts with.

Gary's next three Pokémon if he chose:

This game is a lot like the Blue/Red versions. Here's a few of the changes. More detailed information will come when the game is released:

Prof. Oak catches a wild Pikachu and gives it to you, and then it always follows you around like in the TV show.
Gary starts with an Eevee, and later evolves it into Jolteon, Vaporeon, or Flareon.
Team Rocket is in the game now. They have Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing (They evolve like in the show).
You can catch Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur in the wild.
With the GB Printer, you can print your PokéDex.

Pokémon not in the Yellow version:

Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Ekans, Arbok, Meowth, Persian, Koffing, Weezing, Jinx, Electabuzz, and Magmar

Getting Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur
Charmander: The first Pokémon that you can get is Charmander. First, beat all of the treiners on the Nugget Bridge and right above, you'll see a trainer that is not there in the Blue/Red Versions. Talk to him and he'll ask you if you want Charmander.
Squirtle: First get the Thunder Badge from Lt. Surge. Next, you'll see Officer Jenny near the Vermillion City PokéMart. Talk to her and she'll ask you if you want Squirtle.
Bulbasaur: After you get Squirtle, go through the Underground Passage back up to Curulean City. Go into the house that is on the Curulean City PokéCenter's left. You'll see Oddish on the left and Sandshrew on the right. Up above is a girl. Talk to her and she'll ask if you want Bulbasaur.
Important: Pikachu must be happy and at level 20 or up or else she won't give you Bulbasaur.
