Backstreet's Back! Following their Top 10 success with their single 'The One', the Backstreet Boys will be performing live at Party In The Park 2000. And they'll be teaming up with Sir Elton John to recreate their duet as performed at this year's Grammy Awards!
The B-Boys first 'Got It Going On' in 1993, in Orlando, Florida, when AJ, Howie and Nick hooked up with Kevin and his cousin Brian, and quickly became a popular live act in the area. After scoring a deal with Jive Records the boys first made it big in Europe and Canada before conquering America and becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
Their debut album 'Backstreet Boys', released in 1997, featured the hit singles 'Quit Playing Games', 'As Long As You Love Me' and 'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)', and has so far gone gold and platinum in 45 countries, selling a staggering 28 million copies. It hasn't all been good news though - in 1998 Brian underwent life-saving heart surgery, but has since completely recovered.
Proof that the boys were no one-hit wonders came in May 1999 with the release of their follow-up album 'Millennium'. It sold a record-breaking 1,130,000 copies in the US in its first week, and has already sold over 10 million worldwide, confirming them as one of the world's fastest selling pop acts ever!
If you've not seen the boys perform live before, then you'd better catch 'em doing their thing at Party In The Park - it's gonna be 'Larger Than Life'!
