Interview about 'Party in The Park'

Question: Who are you looking forward to seeing perform at this year's PITP?
I've heard cool things about Travis , so I hope I get a chance to see them, and there's a rumour that Whitney is going to perform (First we've heard of it!) I hope she does, I would love to see her.

Question: Do you know which songs you will be performing?
We still haven't decided of course I'll do 'Genie' and 'What A Girl Wants' and I hope to do the big ballard 'I Turn To You'.
Question: What will you be doing when you're not on stage?
Probably more interviews!!

Question: Can we expect any surprises in your set?
Definitley...you'll have to wait and see, but I can tell you that we made some changes to the songs.

Question: What's the best party you've ever been to?
Probably this New Year's Eve in Times Square. MTV hosted this massive party with all these great stars and I got a chance to perform. It was freezing outside but everyone had fun!

Question: What's the one thing that people should bring with them?
Just bring a smile! : )

Question: You are flying over especially to do this date. Why is it really important to you?
Performing at Party In The Park was something I've wanted to do for a long time and I'm flying in from my Canadian tour especially for it. I really love my UK fans, and I've been so busy in the US and around the world that I haven't spent as much time here as I wanted to. Also, I was ill in May and had to cancel a trip here so I feel like I owe it to my fans.

Question: It will also be your debut UK performance. Are you looking forward to to meeting your British fans?
Absolutley, I've done a ton of interviews and TV perfromances here and things like that but perfroming live is what I'm all about and I can't wait to show that to my UK fans.

Question: Which of your songs is the biggest crowd pleaser?
Of course everyone loves 'Genie' but you'd be surprised at the reaction to 'Come On Over', it's an up tempo number with a lot of dancing. That usually gets people going as well.

Question: Why have you decided to record a Spanish language album?
I had planned on a Spanish album even before I signed with RCA. I am also partly latin and my heritage is important to me, so i wanted to explore that musically. Also I just love latin music!

Question: What songs do you most enjoy performing - funky tunes or ballads?
That's hard to say, I like them both but really I am more a singer than a dancer. I think I like the ballads...

Question: Have you ever played to 100,000 people before?
I don't think I have ever played to a crowd that big. I just did a festival in Acapulco that maybe comes close but a crowd that size is going to be new to me! I can't wait!

Question: What was the first concert you ever went to?
It was either Madonna or Janet Jackson, I can't remember which one was first. Both of them are so tough and such great performers, they had a huge influence on me.

Question: Do you enjoy performing outdoors?
I love it! The energy is really high, loads of people cheering in the sunshine...you can't beat it.

Question: Can you give us a weather prediction?
Let's hope we don't have a foggy English day! I am going to bring some latin sunshine! See you there!
