SEAN our youngest son, honored me when called upon in high school to right an essay titled..
MY HERO...
First of all what is a hero? A hero is someone that is always there for you when you are in trouble. A hero is someone you really look up to and can always depend on. A hero is someone that you can trust, and you will always know that they're going to stick by you through thick and thin.
I would like to tell you a remarkable story. I was 'born' at seven years old. I have a 14 year old sister that was 'born' at eight years old,a 27 year old brother, that was 'born' at 2 months old..and a 39 year old brother. We have a wacky, but wonderful family all because of my hero, my mom.
My mom is what you call, 'kid crasy'. From 1965- 1994 my mom was a foster mom to about 200 kids ages 5-17. She had a rough time as a kid and felt that she could really relate to and help others because of her experiences. Mom has taught us all to turn 'Our scars into stars' that instead of dwelling on all the hurts we had, to use those experiences to understand and help each other and others. My mom is not what you would call an easy mom. She is strict. She pushes me to be the 'best' I can be in everything!
my mom taught me to love God, and my country and to expect a little miracle every day, and it will happen. She taught me how family is the most important thing in the world. Mom taught me that 'adoption' means I am extra special as I was 'choosen'.. My mom is really tough when it comes to respect! She demands we show it to everyone, as everyone deserves it no matter who they are! She teaches us right from wrong, and expects us to do the right thing, and she is not a 'happy' person if we don't. My mom spends hours explaining things, and doesn't feel any question is to big, or to small. She is tough but tender. She can rant and rave over bad behavior, but cry over a sad movie or beautiful music. She loves to sing and dance and has taught us to do both. Mom believes it's ok to be silly sometimes, and to laugh at ourselves..
You can see I am not very tall yet, but mom always says, 'bloom where you are planted'! 'Be the best you can be with your God given talent'! Mom is always coming up with these sayings. I think she has one for every problem that comes up!
My mom loves to cook, and has taught me about good nutrition and how to cook too.
What I am really trying to say is that a Hero isn't only a person who can fly, or is
wearing a cape, or who can hit or dribble or kick a ball. A hero can be anyone in the world that you believe in and love.
And Mom, my hero is you!

JOHN, MY SILVER WOLF, SERVED IN THE US NAVY ABOARD THE USS INCHON FROM 1977-1981 HIS SPECIALTY WAS COMMUNICATIONS. |

THANK YOU MOTHER..
So often Mother, I find myself wanting to say 'Thank you'. That's what this message is for, to somehow try to say, how grateful I am for you...
Where am I to start?...
'Thank you" of course, just for being my mother. But, that's only the beginning. "Thank you' for the smile in your eyes, that says you are glad to see me. For that smile has so much warm affection in it...
It's so easy sometimes to feel all alone..."thank you" for showing me I'm not. "thank you" for sharing so fully, your love, your life, your cheerfulness...
"Thank you" for your special outlook, that's taught me to look at things in a whole new way. "Thank you" for all the little things you do, they are so many, I could never begin to list them...
But, I want you to know that I do notice... and that I am always, always thankful!\\Mother, there must be a hundred other things I could thank you for...
Some big, some small, and all of them beautiful...
The trouble is I just don't know of words good enough, or beautiful enough to say the things i fell...
So until, I can see you and hug you and "thank you" face to face...
Here's this...
"Thank you" Mother for being what you are...
So warm..
So special..
So dear to me
And so very much loved!
Love always and forever...
Your son Darryl..

To The Love of My Life,
First of all, I am an American husband married to an American wife. I am also an American Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS INCHON LPH-12 http://www.spear.navy.mil/ships/mcs12/index.html from 1977-1981 and served proudly to protect my country and family. I was over in the mideast 20 years ago when this started with the American hostages being held for over 444 days, did the United States remember that incident? Now it is our children's turn to protect our borders. Here at home, I will do everything in my powers to protect my wife and family from harms way. I know I am an American and I want to be wrapped in my flag when the time comes for the all-mighty to call upon me. I love my darling wife Joanie, my family and my country in this order. Again I will say GOD BLESS AMERICA and all families in the U.S. military protecting us from abroad. May GOD SPEED BE WITH YOU ALL.
LOVE ALWAYS AND 4-EVER
YOUR HUSBAND 4-EVER
JOHN aka SILVERWOLF
