Escort
Have your warriors defend the hauler
Because of something that happens at the end of the mission, speed will be important, so you may want to hop out of your Warrior and trade places with one of the Sentry pilots. There's no time limit, so between each encounter, stop until the Healer has taken care of everyone. As you head southeast, you may be able to see some of the units before they're activated. Hop out and snipe them.
As you emerge from the canyon that bears east, you'll see three Scion Scouts to the south. If you want to try the hard road, approach them and let them lead you east where they want you to go. You're better off sniping them and taking the south canyon, however. When you reach the lava lake at the other end of the canyon, have your vehicles fight the ISDF units and make a beeline across the lake with the Hauler behind you.
Defense of the AAN base
Once you've reached the Alchemitor, you're going to have to make a run for the dropship after the cutscene plays. You don't have the resources to fight so just dash there in your vehicle's fastest configuration. Try circling around the back of the Alchemitor if you're having trouble evading your pursuers' attacks.
An Unlikely Rescue
There's a pool 100 meters to the southwest, another 500 meters to the southeast, and a third 250 meters to the northeast. Unfortunately, ISDF units will attack from multiple directions, so it'll be hard to protect all three sites. To make matters worse, the fourth wave will consist of over a half dozen enemy vehicles streaming in one after the other. Worst of all, there's a time limit on this mission.
Incoming Walker
The key to surviving early on is doing most of the fighting yourself. Chase off the Scouts, don't waste too much effort worrying about Mortar Bikes, and focus on the seemingly unending stream of Tanks. Build a lot of cheap units, Scouts and Sentries, to divert some of the fire. Guardians will help immensely, but they're almost all guaranteed to die.
You'll probably get the message about your new objectives during the fighting, which means you'll be too busy to listen. Keep an eye on your objectives and when you get the message to head to the bridge, make sure you've got full ammo, gather up your meager surviving forces and head out. Use your Warrior's Plasma Stream to circle strafe around the Assault Tank at the base of the bridge and then destroy all the sections of the bridge as quickly as you can.
Once your service truck is done with the factory, he's still useful
Things get a little easier once you reach the AAN base. There might be a few token attacks against your original base, but nothing that a pair of Guardians can't handle. So bring any additional units to the AAN base to complement the ragged forces already there. The final assault will include three pairs of Walkers accompanied by some Assault Tanks. If you build the Gun Spire where Yelena asks you to, it will be out of the range of the AAN Gun Tower and will easily fall prey to Braddock's forces. Put the Spire back near the base to share its firepower with the Gun Tower. You can easily circle around Walkers faster than they can bring their guns to bear on you, so keep one of them busy while the Gun Tower and Spire take care of everything else.
The AAN
You're back on familiar terrain now, using ISDF forces instead of Scion units. Make a Scavenger to set up an Extractor on the second nearby Bio-metal pool and then build a Service Bay and Service Truck as per Yelena's instructions. Once you've made a Service Truck, manually give it orders to repair the Factory and Power Generator. The ISDF will build an Extractor on the pool 400 meters to the north, so if you'd like to slow them down, hop over and burn it down with your Plasma Stream when you get a chance.
Attacks will come from all directions, so you'll have a hard time place Turrets effectively. Once you build a few Tanks, you'll be able to hold them off easily. The attacks might chip away at the health of your Factory and Power Generators, so until Yelena changes your orders, make sure the Service Truck keeps working to repair them; if they're not fully repaired after a certain amount of time, your mission will fail. Take the Bio-metal pool to the north to help your build up.
Defending your base
Once the lone Assault Tank arrives, you should start thinking about getting some Gun Towers set up to protect your build up. Ideally, you should have a Gun Tower at each corner of your base, with a few Turrets to fill in the gaps. These should hold off the Assault Tanks as well as the Bombers and APCs that will visit.
Before attacking the ISDF base, snipe any Turrets you can see from outside the Gun Towers' range. When you assault the base, taking out just one Power Generator will shut down the Gun Towers. Single out any Constructors to prevent them from building new Generators while your units mop up the defenses. After this, the Scion convoy will be a piece of cake in comparison.
Braddock
Archers at work
Unlike the end of the ISDF campaign, this is a grand build-fest played out along a straight line. Yelena will pinpoint the location of each successive Bio-metal pool for you, leading you gradually to the showdown with Braddock. Once you have a couple of Turrets to defend you base, you can probably take Bio-metal 1 by yourself, since it's only guarded by two Tanks. Bio-metal 2 and 3 each have an Assault Tank with a few escort units, so wait until you've got some back up before proceeding. Yelena won't update your objectives until you've got an Extractor working at Bio-metal 3.
Bio-metal 3 will be the chokepoint from which you can protect all your resources. Bring up all your defenses and set up a perimeter here while you build an assault force. Although there are other canyons leading to your base, the ISDF attacks will focus on recovering Bio-metal 3 to the expense of everything else.
Showdown
The ISDF base consists of only a few buildings, so you can make quick work of it with a handful of Archers or an APC strike. After taking out the base, you'll only have to destroy Braddock (and his two wingmen) to finish the mission |
