| What is your car worth? |

Find out, and how to increase that.

To find out the current value of your car, go to Kelly Blue Book's website or call your local bank. Bank's have a book that they use to find the value of a car so that they know how much they will give on a loan. To go to Kelly Blue Book, click here: http://www.kbb.com/cgi-bin/cgi.exe?kbb+uc+guc and then follow the on screen directions. Did you know that by waxing and cleaning your car you can get up to 25% more for it? Go to your auto parts store, such as Auto Zone, and ask what they recommend. You may also want to replace any inexpensive trim pieces, fill scratches, put in new floor mats, and anything else that will cost less than it is worth. First, give your car a good wash and wax, do not use a car wash unless you dry your car after. Waterspots look bad, especially on dark colored cars. Next, touch up any scratches with the CORRECT touch up paint. Finish with a proper waxing. If your car is worth a fairly large amount, it may be worth having it detailed. You should also have a mechanic check for problems. Be sure to change oil and insure that tire pressure and fluid levels are correct, informed buyers check for these. Remove anything such as a mechanics paper floormat or a complimentary trash bag, do not let them know it has been in the shop, do not, however, remove the sticker that tells when to change the oil next. If you know you have a buyer coming, warm up a vehicle so that it starts quickly. If you live somewhere where vehicles get very hot, cool it down and keep it in the shade. If a buyer is uncomfortable, he or she will be in a hurry to leave. If your vehicle leaks oil, clean your drive-way of any oil spills. Check to make sure all lights work and that the radio is not too loud or on a station that could turn off some people. Replace missing wheel covers or hub-caps before a buyer views the car. If you list the vehicle with a picture, do not show missing wheel covers or hubcaps. Other than this, the rest is up to you. These tips also work for trade ins. Please let me know if anyone uses these tips and has great luck. Be sure to click vote for this site in the upper left hand corner.
