Canoga Park High School Class of 1955 Reunion



Classmates,



I have taken on the job of Reunion Chairman for our 50th Reunion after making several phone calls and checking the Classmates.com and Canoga Park web sites and finding that there were no plans for the 50th reunion. I have emailed and phoned Glennalie (Garland) Coleman, the previous chairman and received what information she had on the previous 45th reunion. Betty (Lunstrum) McGee has been emailing everyone listed on Classmates.com to get an interest survey started for the reunion. I received many of your email addresses from her efforts. Leah (Ebinger) Clark and Larry Shennum have also volunteered. I have also received some information for some classmates from Cookie (Vericat) Colestock and Lea Pierce. If any one else would like to volunteer, please contact me.



Quick Bio on myself: Graduated Canoga High Spring 1955. Attended Pierce College for 2 years and played basketball and baseball. Transferred to Fresno State College and graduated June 1959 with a Bachelor of Science, Engineering Option. Married Kay Kelly (Canoga Class of 1957) and divorced 18 months later. Worked as engineer for North American Aviation in Inglewood and Atomics International in Canoga Park. Then went to Lockheed Burbank and put in 33 years. Married Lynn Gainor from Van Nuys in 1963 who I met in Tip Toppers, a social club for tall men (6’4" minimum) and women (6’ minimum). I am (was) 6’5" and Lynn is 6’ tall. We have three children Michael, Susan and Brent. Michael and Brent live locally and Susan lives in Madison, Wisconsin and we have a grand total of 10 grandchildren. I retired from Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in 1999.



My wife, Lynn, is a Van Nuys High Class of ‘56 Graduate. She will be helping me and has been on the reunion committee or the Chairman of their last several reunions. They have put together their reunions without help from a commercial reunion company. They have been collecting and making name lists for years and have found a large number of their classmates. I set up their computer name list and did most of their bookkeeping for banking, reunion tickets and miscellaneous reunion costs.



Since we did not have long list of classmates or a working committee researching classmates, it is my plan to start the Reunion Experts Company (they put on the 45th reunion) on the search for classmates and using their software to locate as many classmates as possible. I have the graduation programs for winter 1955 and summer 1955 listing the classmate’s full names that help the hunt. However, nothing is better than classmates’ knowing other classmates current addresses and this is where I need everyone’s help in finding as many other classmates as possible. At the end of this letter, I will list all the Classmates whose current email addresses we have located.

It is my hope that we can have many more classmates attending our 50th reunion than were at the 45th reunion.



The locations and times that are available are dependent on the size of the reunion group attending. Current time frames are September or October of 2005.
