We walked the beaches ,
all day long
Gathering up those washed in shells
That told the stories of the seas
Each ever so unique ,
in its own way
How easy things fade
To the deep recesses of the mind
When we fail ,
to take the time
To stop and pause
To just realize ...

Survival
Darkness rolls in quickly
Covering my path ,
like a thick wool blanket
Smothering my sight
Reducing my tools to that of sound and smell
No longer able to rely soley ,
on my strong vision
That has been stolen from me

It was so easy before
Dangers that stood in my path
Were very obvious
And easily avoided
But , in this new world
I have been reduced ,
to one that responds
Let those that stand in my path
Be the ones to move first
Then I will react as best I can
Hoping that I will adjust
To form a way to shelter ...

From the beast that prowls
Trusting these seldom used instincts
Will be my test
For survival will come
Only ,
if I have faith in myself .

The journey we take
Down this wild road of life
Heading us off to new lands
Where excitement abounds

For it matters not
From what seed we come
But only to see us flourish
Growing big and strong

All is so beautifull
On this open plain
Each has its plusses
From what I have seen

For even the solitary rose
Is unique on its own
Holding a strong substance
Unlike the others

So go now
Get busy
Enjoy this life
For when its all done
What else is left

If only I had time
To do all the things
that I had dreamed
It would be filled with you
Every last moment of mine

How I long to be held
Just one last time
For the memories have faded
And I am all cold inside

Shallow waters ...
Should reveal what lies below
But the light has gone dim
And no longer I see
What lies there so close to me

White fluffy snowflakes
That flutter to the ground
Did their own part
In covering our path

No longer can that trail be seen
So how do we retrace
To find that moment
When we drifted apart

Loosing sight of each other
That path that we travelled

Is it now gone

Inside
Time flows by so quickly now
As I sit and ponder back
Reflecting on those moments we shared
When we walked the path together
Never realizingthat it would end so quickly
That sudden burst of the bubble
Like a flash winter storm
Dropping its fluffy white cover
Changing the appearance of everything
And covering our trail

Now stranded deep in the woods
I crouch low in fear
Alone and cold
My route out is not clear
Those stars above
With diamond like sparkle
Only serve to confuse
This huge emptiness
... inside
