Glass Bubbles
Have you ever caught yourself adrift
Just riding with the current
Not a paddle aboard
To control the path of your craft
Relying solely on nature's flow
To pass you along that winding course
Through the gentle calmness
Of the grassy meadows
Where deer and elk both romp
Like those glossy pictures ,
found in magazines
Or the wild rage of rapids
Tossing you from stern to port
Where all you can do
Is cross your legs
And hope to get past it
The way the thunderstorm,
rips open the mid-day sky
Scattering the parade,
from its route
It seems to be an endless journey
To where we flow ...
But it is much preferred
Then sitting back at home
Secured within our glass bubbles

Shattered Dreams
Its funny the way it all turned out
Alone I sit in our little house
Those plans we made
I barely recall
With those unfullfilled promises
Still locked in the jar
A storybook love
That is what we were called
For we were ... the envy of all
Near and far
It wouldn't matter,
that we were poor
For we had each other
That is what we were told
But now I sit
All curled and alone
Our castle walls crumbling
Before my tear stained eyes
And nothing that I say
Or think out loud
Makes a difference
To any of this
... right now

Blue Angel

She came to me
Light hearted and spirited
Dressed in a flowing blue gown
With sparkling eyes to match
As brilliant as nights light,
reflecting over still water
Her mere presence lifted me
Out of that low
To which I had sunk
Upto new heights of joy
And her touch
Gentle as a mid-summer's breeze
The way it manipulates,
the golden hanging willows
It stimulated me
Into a new tranquility
All that I had wished for
Had come true
It was not hard at all
To be lost in her grasp
Never wanting it to end
Knowing that if I were to wake
It would be over again

Why Storm

The shutters sway back and forth
In such a disorderly fashion
The big red maple
That once stood so proud
Seems to bend down
To that sudden onslaught of wind,
swirrling through the yard
Then a flash of light
Followed by that thunderous bang
Seems to rip the sky open
And the angels above began to weep
Shedding their tears on the land
They tell me that this rain is needed
To make our crops grow
But I must question that
For as you must know
My flowers respond well
To the sprinkler I tote
Must be more silly stories
Told by those that don't know
That these storms are really
quite frightfull
For if I had my way
I would ban them to-day
And replace them all
With sunshine ...
