Before I started writing this page I thought
that I could name the songs that became hits
in the Philippines on a year by year basis.
But after preparing the columns for each year
from 1953 to 1966, I found it hard to put the
songs exactly in their proper places without
referring to my book which I didn't feel like
doing. So, I just resorted to writing them (I
mean the titles, of course) altogether instead.
I would like to remind you though that many of
the songs that made big hits in the Philippines
did not even make it in the charts of Billboard.
Here are the songs that became highly popular
in the Philippines and which composed the country's
Hit Parade during the era of the W.O. Society
(1953-1966):
