It's playoffs time, my favorite time of the year. But who will win this time ? Everybody seems to go with the Avs but don't be surprised if the East gets the nod over the West another time. New Jersey is so mighty with the best offensive defensive line in all the NHL, you all know I talk about the Elias-Arnott-Sykora line. But what about Buffalo, we all know Hasek makes miracles these last couples of months and they have some pretty goods offensive players. They lack blueline power with Woolley not being able to get his power-play points ups and they'll sure miss Mike Peca but I think they're to watch. As for Pittsburg I don't think they'll get too far but ouch I wouldn't want to be Olaf Kolzig who'll have to face 4 of the top 10 scorers of the NHL.

My pick: New Jersey

BTW a prediction for the draft: Atlanta will choose Jason Spezza first overall while the NY Islanders will end up choosing Ilja Kovalchuk second. I bet I'm right and there's big chance I am.

*** If any of you wants to know anything about hockey, maybe I can help you... So e-mail me your questions and I'll get back to you. I get give some very good advice for pools since I myself have had some sucess in the past and the present.

Now that Gretzky as retired, many people are wondering who will be the best player in the NHL. Don Cherry said in 1998 that a 15 years old kid at the time would be the next Gretzky, the name of that player is Jason Spezza. At that time, I didn't know this guy and even if Don Cherry knows a lot about hockey (this guy is great !!!), I didn't know if Spezza would be the next Gretzky. But in the last World Junior Tournament, Spezza was chose on Team Canada as a 16 years old player and showed at training camp that he could be on the first line of the team. I then started to really believe that he could be the next Gretzky and maybe even better than "the great one". (To see Jason Spezza's detail, look at the bottom of the page)

Two other players are said to have a brilliant future in the NHL. Mitchell Davis (7 years old) and Daniel Luciano (8 years old), both beated Gretzky's record of 104 goals in 40 games at that age. Davis had 105 goals in 17 games while Luciano beated him with 106 goals in only 16 games. Both these kids are from Ontario, so is Spezza and Gretzky... that means one thing, either Ontario produces some of the best player on earth, or they produces the worsts goalies ! Maybe there's a little bit of both considering Ontario gave the NHL the bext player ever (Gretzky) and many more like Lindros, but no goalie from there has done what those from Quebec have done.

For the Vancouver Canucks fans, here's a club to be part of.
