| A little history lesson |

| Here's a brief timeline of my favorite band ever, Social Distortion. 1981: American Hostages freed from Iran. Ronald Reagan is shot. Social Distortion releases "Mainliner" and does first cross country U.S. tour. 1982: Great Britain defeats Argentina in the Falklands War. Social Distortion releases their first album, Mommy's Little Monster and are featured in the seminal punk rock documentary film Another State of Mind. 1983: A terrorist bomb kills 237 Marines in Beirut. The U.S. invades Grenada. Toto wins a lot of Grammys. Social Distortion releases the "1945" single. 1988: The U.S. shoots down an Iranian commercial airliner killing 290 people. A terrorist bomb blows up a Pan Am jetliner over Scotland killing 270 people. After a five year recording layoff, Social Distortion returns with Prison Bound. 1990: Nelson Mandela is freed from prison in South Africa after 27 years. Iraq invades Kuwait, setting the stage for the Gulf War of 1991. Milli Vanilli wins Best New Artist Grammy - look it up. Social Distortion releases their self-titled major label debut and tour with Neil Young. To date, the album Social Distortion has sold nearly half a million copies. 1992: Four Los Angeles police officers are aquitted of beating Rodney King, setting off four days of rioting in Southern California. Social Distortion releases Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, the first single "Bad Luck" cracks MTV's Buzz Bin for 12 weeks and the band does a co-headline tour with the Ramones. To date, Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell has sold over 400,000 copies. 1995: O.J. Simpson aquitted of murder. Oklahoma City Federal Building is bombed, killing 170 people. The first two Social Distortion albums are re-issued along with a collection of their singles from the 1980's. 1996: The Unabomber is captured after a 17-year search. The worst winter weather in over 150 years cripples the Eastern U.S. Social Distortion releases White Light, White Heat, White Trash. "I Was Wrong" is the first single, at radio August 21st.
