| On February 29, 2000 Dennis Danell, one of only two original members of the legendary punk rock band Social Distortion, passed away. Reported as natural causes, turned out to be a brain aneurysm. Doctors spent forty-five minutes trying to revive him, but nothing worked. Mike Ness, along with John Maurer and Dennis' wife Christie were at the hospital with him. Dennis left behind his wife and his two children, three and six months. All my respect(as much as a sixteen year old can have) has gone to his family and friends. It will be awfully hard for his children to grow up with no daddy. And Social Distortion will never be the same. Whether or not they choose to go on as Social Distortion I can't say, only I hope they do, but it's understandable if they don't. I myself have not been an Social D fan for very long, how could I be at only sixteen? But I've been one long enough to know they are the best band I have ever heard, long enough to have had them help me through a lot of things, and long enough to have read enough about the band members to develop a strong liking to them all, whether I have actually met them or not. I only wish his wife and kids peace and assurance he is better off now. And to the rest of Social Distortion, especially Mike, being his best friend since high school, hang in there guys, and to all Social D fans, we are all shocked almost beyond belief, and very much saddened by this. If anyone needs to cyber-cry on a cyber-shoulder, IM me *wink*. Alright so I made this page a long ass(I'm almost 18 now) time ago. Well, in February anyway! Just so you don't think I forgot I made it, I'm here telling you I know his death has long passed(well kind of, but not really), but I still feel it necessary to leave this page up to honor him.
