Continued from Chapter 6...

"I see." AJ said. Trisha let out a big sigh as she sat down on the couch across from the table. They sat there for what felt like forever in an uncomfortable silence until Trisha suddenly got up and left abruptly. She walked down in her room and shut the door. All she wanted to do was leave life. So much that she sat there for a good hour thinking all the different ways she could leave quickly. She was about to go to the bathroom to see if there was any aspirin when she heard a knock on the door. "Yeah?" She said
"Can we come in?" AJ asked as the guys stood outside the door.
"I suppose." She said trying to quickly push the previous thoughts out of her head. AJ was the first to come in and he sat down in the bed next to her along with Brian. Nick and Kevin stood across from them and Howie stood in the doorway.
"What's going on?" Trisha asked concerned.
"Nothing we just wanted to ask you something." Kevin responded. "Is that ok?"
"Yeah I guess." Trisha answered looking at him. "But I can't promise you anything."
"That's ok as long as you listen to us." Kevin said.
"Ok." Trisha said quietly.
"Good. Now." Kevin started. "We were thinking that we would like to get to know you better since you will be with us for awhile."
˜Well not as long as you think." Trisha thought while he continued talking.
"So how does that sound?" Trisha just caught the end of what he was saying but just agreed with him.
"Um eah, sure, whatever" She said looking at all of them.
"Great." Kevin said smiling. "Well we will be getting stopping in about a half-hour. Just so we can get out and stretch ok?"
"Yeah, ok, sounds great." Trisha said trying to sound cheerful. "Have somebody come get me when they stop."
"Ok we will." Kevin said and started to walk out with the rest of the guys.
As soon as they were out of her room and closed the door Kevin looked at rest of the guys and said "Well, that went well. See I told you."
"Yeah it would have went well if she had actually listened to you." AJ said laughing lightly.
"What are you talking about." Kevin asked.
"You couldnt tell that she wasnt listening to you, she was thinking about something else when you were talking to her, I know that look, it was an â€I am off in la “la land while you are talkingâ she does it when something you say triggers her mind to make her think of something she has to do or did. It doesn' happen often but it happens." AJ said laughing louder now.
"Well than I guess it didnt go well." Kevin said and walked down towards his room.
"I guess this is affecting him more than I thought it would." AJ said looking at Howie.
"I think we are all deeply affected by it." Howie said and walked towards the "rec." room.
Trisha was laying down on the bed thinking how she was going to do something without bringing attention to herself. She hated doing that. No matter if it something that is bad or not. Just as she was about to fall back to sleep somebody knocked on her door. "Yeah?" She asked getting up. Howie stuck her head in the door. "We stopped." He said looking at her. "Ok, thanks." Trisha said fixing her hair. Howie left and she grabbed some money and went out towards the front of the bus. The bus driver looked at her and said "You got a half-hour here and than we are gonna leave with or without ya." The bus driver said smiling.
"OK thanks." Trisha said and got off the bus. She looked around to see where all the guys were. She saw them all walking into the rest room. She took off towards the store hoping to make her purchase without the guys finding out. Unfortunately one of them was coming out just in time to see what she was buying. She looked around quickly stuffed what she had bought in her jacket and took off towards the restroom. She got to the restroom and realized that she needed a lighter or match looking around and feeling frustrated she walked out of the restroom and literally ran into Nick who was walking out of the Mens restroom talking about something. "Where'she ire?" Nick asked laughing. "Um. I left something on the bus" She said quickly and ran off. "What was that all about?" Kevin asked. "I don know." Nick said.
She ran onto the bus and ran frantically her room and looked high and low for either a lighter or matches. She finally realized that the only person that would have a lighter that she knew of was AJ. She ran towards his room knocked and without even waiting opened the door. She looked around and opened his nightstand and found a lighter. She smiled and ran off the bus and back to the restroom and looked around and than lit the cigarette and sighed. She was thinking about how she was going to cover up what she was doing. She finally realized that she forgot to grab something to cover up her smell. She looked around and realized that she was going to have to make another stop at the store and get something before she got back onto the bus. She knew she couldnâ€™t go back on the bus smelling like she was a walking cigarette. She finished up feeling a bit better but not much and looked to see where the guys were and they were right outside the ladies restroom obviously waiting for her. She walked back over towards the sink and started racking her brain. â€˜What am I going to do?™ She thought. If she went out know they would surely get caught. She washed her face and decided that she was going to go out there and tell them that she was hungry and make a run towards the store. So she looked at and sure enough they were still out there. She walked out and the guys looked up from what they were doing and walked over to her. She walked right past them and towards the store without saying a word. She walked in and bought a package of mints and a big pack of gum and decided that she should buy something like chips so she would have an excuse to why she rushed by them so quickly. She quickly bought the gum and stuffed some in her mouth before the guys came and was looking around for something to eat and drink when the guys came in looking for her. She knew they were going to catch her b/c she knew she must smell like a cigarette. But obviously the guys didn't seem to notice and started talking to her. "What are you doing?" Nick asked.
"U,"She turned around startled. "I am really hungry and was looking for something to eat." She said looking at the selection of chips they had. Nick reached up from behind her and handed her a bag of chips. "This is the best kind." He whispered in her ear. For fear that he was going to smell her breath she turned and walked away a little and said "Thanks, now all I need is some soda." She walked over towards the soda. The guys all looked at each other. "What is up with her. She is acting really weird." Brian said looking at the other guys."
"I don't know, but I am going to find out right now."AJ said walking towards Trisha.
"What is going on?" AJ said when he approached her. Thinking he knew what she did she started to stutter. "Um,what are you talking about?" She asked.
"I don't know, you tell me." AJ said. "You are the one that keeps walking away from us as if we have a disease."
"I am sorry but I just need some time to myself, I need to think some things through, I am going through a rough time right now." Trisha said breathless.
AJ softened "I understand, listen if you need anything just ask. Do you have enough money to get that stuff?" He shoved some money in her hand before she could object. "We have to be back on the bus in about ten minutes so you better hurry up." He walked off and she turned towards the coolers and saw what she thought could drowned her sorrows she was about to grab one when she realized that she was supposed to be 21 in order to buy it so she sighed and turned around towards where the soda was. She grabbed a Mountain Dew and went towards the cash register. She paid for the soda and ran out onto the bus. "You got here just in time." The bus driver said and winked at her.
"Oh good." She joked back and ran past the guys into her room.
Once in her room she took her cigarettes out of her pocket and hid them in her backpack and turned around to find her door slightly ajar. She got up and walked over and shut her door. She walked back over to her backpack and hid the lighter too. She sat there and thought of a way to get over her depression. She knew of a way but she knew it was close to impossible. She decided to get more sleep so she went to bed until they got to South Carolina. She awoke to somebody knocking on her door she decided to ignore it. Kevin knew that she was ignoring the knocking so he opened the door carefully and saw Trisha lying on her bed looking at the ceiling.
"What's wrong?" Kevin asked. He was really starting to worry about her.
"What makes you think that something is wrong?" Trisha asked trying to avoid the question.
"Well you seem to be acting weird lately." Kevin said. " So I was wondering what was wrong. You seem like you are really sad about something. Is there anything I can do to help? You can talk to me about anything, you know that right?" Kevin asked sitting down on her bed.
"Thanks Kevin." Trisha said. "But I am fine. And if I had any problems or concerns I would tell you believe me, you would be the first to know." She got up and went over to start getting her things together.
"Ok well good." Kevin said and got up. "I just wanted to tell you that we will be in South Carolina any minute now."
"Ok, thanks Kevin." Trisha said and went back to getting her stuff together.
As soon as they got to the hotel a body guard went up to the front desk and got their room keys and went back to the bus to give the guys there keys. AJ noticed that there was a shortage of keys. "Ops. I forgot to tell you to get another key. Trisha needs one" AJ told the guard.
"That's ok I will get one myself." Trisha said and started off the bus with her things. She went around to the front of the hotel and went up to the front desk.
"I need a room." She told the lady at the front desk. The lady looked down at her.
"Arenâ€™t you a little to young to be getting a room by yourself? Where are your parents?"
Through clenched teeth she answered. "I am eighteen. I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself."
"Well I am sorry but unless you can prove that you are eighteen I can't give you a room."
Trisha opened up her backpack and took out her wallet and gave the lady her driver's license. "Now may I get a room?" She asked trying to be nice about it, but inside she was furious.
"I suppose. Any specific place you prefer to stay?"
"No where would be fine." Trisha responded and waited patiently while she got Trisha a room.
"Ok you have room 209. I hope you enjoy your stay." The lady turned a walked away without saying another word.
Trisha turned around and realized the lady didn't even tell her what direction her room was. She looked around and saw an elevator she walked over to it and waited for the elevator and than rode up the second floor. She found when she got up there that the lady had put her clear down on the other side of the building. She walked down towards her room. When she got there she was surprised to find that she had put her in one of the smoking rooms. â€˜Good, now I have an even lesser chance of getting caught.â€™ She smiled and walked into her room. She put her stuff down and was about to go back to bed when she realized that the guys had no clue where her room was and she didn't know where there rooms were. She figured that she better find them before she fell asleep or AJ would start getting worried if he already wasn't. She made sure she had her key and left to go find them she found that the guys had rooms all the way at the other end of the hall. Which was quite a walk. Nick was the first to notice her. "Hey guys there she is." The other guys turned to see Trisha walking down the hall towards them.
"Hey Trisha." Howie said and the other guys crowded around her. "Did you get a room alright?"
"Yeah I got it alright. It is room 209."She said, "It is clear down at the other end of the hall."
" You should go down there and tell them you want a room near us." AJ said
" No, that's ok it is only for one night." Trisha said. "Well I should get myself settled I just wanted to let you know what room I was in." Trisha turned to leave.
"I will come by to see you after I get out of the meeting ok?" AJ said

I thought you said that you couldn't stand the smell of cigarettes?" He asked.
"Yeah. Well when my parents split and I had to spend the night at my fathers house I sort of got used to the smell." She explained.
"Oh I see." AJ tried another approach. "Um¦ I was wondering if you have seen my lighter recently, I had it on the bus but now I can't find it, I have been asking everybody if they have seen it and nobody has."
"Umâ€¦nope I haven't seen it. Sorry. Maybe you misplaced it." She said playing it off very good. Almost too good. He thought. "OK well, I guess I must have." Umâ€¦. Well I am probably going out with Howie tonight so I won't be in later tonight probably after about 9:00 but if you need anything before that or you just want to talk you know what room I am in. OK?" He asked hugging her.
"Yeah. Ok." Trisha replied
"OK. Good. I will see you later." AJ said as he walked out the door. As he was walking down the hall he saw Kevin heading that way. "Hey are you asking her out tonight?" AJ asked.
"Yeah is there something wrong?" Kevin asked.
" Just keep a close eye on her." AJ said.
"Why what is wrong?" Kevin asked concerned.
"I think all the guys should hear this." AJ said.
"Ok, let go find them." Kevin said a started heading towards their rooms. They rounded up the rest of the guys. As soon as they were all in AJâ€™s room he started.
"OK, I called Trisha's mother because I thought Trisha has been acting strange lately. So when I called her up an told her what was going on she said that last year she had been â€˜what her mother said was stressâ€™ and which I believe was the start of her going out with that Jeff guy, and she started smoking."
"You're kidding?" Nick asked surprised.
"Nope." AJ said." But there is more. She also started drinking and her mother said she caught her just before she started getting into drugs."
"Wow." Howie said shocked. "What are we going to do?"
"I guess the only thing we can do is try to stop her." AJ said. "I know that she is already getting into smoking again."
"How did you find that out?" Kevin asked.
"Well for one thing I saw that she kept avoiding us when we stopped, and another my lighter is missing and Trisha is in the smoking section of the hotel. So you tell me that doesn't sound suspicious."
" Well looks like you know what is going on." Kevin Said.
"Yeah but it took me awhile to get there." AJ said.
"Well I am going to ask her out tonight." Kevin stated. " I want her to have some fun while she is with us. Show her how she should be treated."
"Ok train, but remember I want to ask her out Friday." Nick said. "I already have something planned."
"Oh really?" Brian asked his eyebrows wiggling.
"Yes, really." Nick said smiling.

Chapter 9
Trisha was sitting on her bed watching TV when there was a knock on her door. She went over and looked in the peephole. It was Kevin. What would he want? she thought as she opened the door.
"Can I come in?" Kevin asked as she opened the door.
"Um yeah sure." Trisha said opening it wider.
"What is going on?" She asked.
"Um, well I just wanted to know if you were busy tonight?" Kevin asked.
"Um¦I don't think I have anything planned." She replied.
"Good, because I want you to go out with me tonight." Kevin stated. "What do you think?"
"Um ok" Trisha said slowly. "What exactly are we going to be doing?"
"Well I just thought we could go out to dinner maybe see a movie." Kevin explained. "Sound like fun?"
" Yeah sure." She replied wondering what he was getting at.
"OK great." Kevin said, "Can you be ready in an hour?"
"Of course." Trisha said "I can be ready in an half hour, if I needed too."
"Well I takes me a bit longer." He said heading to the door.
"Um, what kind of clothes should I wear?" Trisha asked.
"Um, something classy yet casual." Kevin said
"Um, ok thanks." She replied and shut the door.
As Kevin got outside her door he saw something that made him gasp. A guy was standing outside his door with something that looked like powder in Baggies. He turned quickly and raced back down to AJ's room.
Once he got there he pounded on his door.
"What in the world?" AJ said. He saw Kevin with a look of horror on his face. "What happened?" He asked letting him in. Kevin saw that al the guys were still in there.
"You will not believe what I saw." Kevin said.
"What?" Nick asked
"As I was coming out of Trisha's room I saw a guy giving another guy drugs. Right across the hall from Trisha." Kevin said
"You're joking right?" AJ said
"No I am dead serious. We have to get her to stay with one of us." Howie said.
"Yeah I know but she is not going to want to stay with us. She is a grown women she needs her privacy." Brian spoke up.
"Yeah but what if she gets into drugs?" Kevin asked
"What if she already did?" Nick said looking at the guys. They all stared at each other. Nick got up and walked out of the room.
While Trisha was in the bathroom getting her next high somebody knocked on her door.
"Oh great." She muttered as she walked to the door and opened it without even looking to see who it was."
"HI Trish." Nick said as he walked in. without even asking. He walked over to her bed and was looking around.
" What is wrong?" Trisha asked.
"Um, nothing just wondered what you were up to." Nick responded.
"Well I was about to take a shower, but now that you are hereâ€¦." She stopped.
"Well, don't stop on account of me." He said looking at her. He realized that she had been sniffling a lot. "Are you getting a cold?" He asked
"What?" Trisha asked "Oh um, yeah. It uh started this afternoon I kept sneezing and sniffling a lot."
"Uh huh." Nick said, "Well you can take your shower."
"And how can I take a shower when I know you are in my room looking for who knows what."
"What exactly are you looking for?" She asked. "If you just ask me I will tell you."
"Ok. Fine." Nick said. " Do you have cigarettes?"
Knowing she had been caught she faked it. "What makes you think that I smoke?" she asked.
" Well because I know that you seemed really upset about the whole boyfriend thing, and you avoided us at the rest stop and you are in a smoking room at a hotel. It just all adds up." He finished.
"Fine Nick you caught me." Trisha said. "OK, ok, I did start smoking today. But I am only going to do it until I finish the package than I won't do it anymore."
"No. How about you give me the cigarettes and I take them and dispose of them so you don't do them anymore." He said
" No, you don't understand." Trisha started.

No that's ok I am perfectly fine where I am." She said getting frustrated.
"Trisha I just don't want to she you harming your body." Nick explained to her in a pleading tone.
"I mean yeah we just talking about a couple of cigarettes, but what if you got into heavier stuff like drugs." Nick said. "I don't want to see anything bad happen to you. You know why?" He asked her. She shook her head no. "Because I really like you." He smiled.
"But how can you like somebody like me, I have messed up soo much?" She said looking at him.
"Because I know that you aren't going to mess up anymore." He said and with that he got up and walked out of the room. All Trisha did was sit down and cry. Knowing that she was making a big mistake. ˜What am I going to do? I have messed up so bad!She thought to her self.
