SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 was a horrible tragedy for all of us Americas. The Backstreet Boys lost one of their road crew workers, Daniel Lee. Not only was Daniel Lee an employee for the Backstreet Boys, he was a close friend. Although the guys won't read this, it's the least I could do to share my condolences with them through this tough time.
They're in my prayers always as well as THOUSANDS out there.

* The following statement from Kevin Richardson was
dictated to his environmental publicist Vicki Hanna on
Sunday, September 16, 2001. Please post in its
entirety *
I'd like to thank you all for your love and support
you've shown our crew and fellow Americans who have
suffered a devastating tragedy the last few days. I
hope you know that our thoughts and prayers are also
with your families and we hope you are safe and well.
I want to just take a minute to clarify my views that
I shared in a recent interview on Much Music. It's
been brought to my attention that my comments have
been misunderstood and I just want to make sure that
you all realize where I'm coming from. I thought
putting it in my own words would be best.
When I said that I think our nation is a bit arrogant,
what I meant is that as a world Super Power, I think
we've become overconfident and taken our opportunities
and freedom for granted. I feel like we've taken on
the attitude that we, as a country, are untouchable.
How did we get that way?
I wholeheartedly appreciate the freedom and
opportunity we have in the United States. But I think
this is a wake up call for us all to take notice that
these freedoms are not a given. How many of us have
watched the news coverage of terrorism going on in
other countries and said, "Oh, how sad," and then just
turned the channel? Have we mourned their losses the
way they're mourning with us now? I don't know.
I also commented on how war is good for the economy.
History shows us time and time again that wars do
boost economics. But my comment was sarcastic. It
bothers me that something as destructive and terrible
as war can help build our prosperity.
I don't apologize for my comments, but I am sorry my
thoughts were incomplete. I didn't intend for them to
come across as insensitive. I know how far-reaching
this event is. Almost all of us know someone who was
directly affected by this disaster. And nobody -
nobody - will walk away from this experience
unchanged.
Regarding the attacks on my patriotism, I believe
there are so many other more important things to think
about right now, that I don't even want to respond to
it. But out of respect for you, I will respond to it
just so you're clear about how I feel. It frustrates
me that people think that I hate our government. I
don't hate anything, I just have strong beliefs for a
number of issues and policies and I believe it's
important that we always ask questions about the
policies that affect us. My dad was a serviceman in
the US Army and I myself was enlisted in the Air
Force before joining the Backstreet Boys. And so it
hurts me that people would think I would betray the
American values that were taught to me by my father. I
know that we need to defend our freedom and way of
life. But I also know that nobody ever really wants
war.
Thank you for hearing me out. I hope we can all
continue to support one another and be strong for each
other. I hope that all our families and friends and
neighbors will remain safe and free.
And I pray that God walks with our leaders and our
allies so they make the right decisions for our
safety, our future -- for our world.
In Peace,
Kevin Richardson
¯\/\\ NICK & BRIAN TALK ABOUT LEIGHANNE .,-
She was supposed to be on one of the flights that crashed into the twin towers, but canceled at the last minute.
Nick Carter told Toronto reporters today that fellow Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell's wife Leighanne Wallace-Littrell was supposed to be on Flight 11, but at the last minute canceled, he said "If Leighanne had gotten on that plane, it would have been the end of the Backstreet Boys, I really believe that would take his life to be with her in Heaven."
Brian said this in the interview "...If that would have happened I wouldn't be here doing this right now." He was going to cry and I think Nick too.

The Backstreet Boys Japan tour tickets for Osaka Dome and Nagoya Dome went on sale on Sept 8 and for Tokyo Dome on Sept 9. All 230,000 tickets were immediately sold out on the dates of the sale!
This is the first time that any foreign act has sold out tickets for five dome concert dates in one day in Japan!
(I would like to mention, i got the info from a BSB zine, which in my opinion kicks butt, but the name is "¯\/\\ 1O0% bKSt .,- 58 ¬ ")
*BSB FACTS*
In junior high school Nick was voted "most romantic".
*The schools they went to*
Nick Carter: Adams Junior High School, Tampa,FL;then tutored
Brian Littrell: Tates Creek High School, Lexington,KY
Howie Dourough: Edgewater High School, Orlando,FL
A.J.: Osceola High School, Kissimmee,FL
Kevin Richardson: Estill County High School,Irvine,KY
Nick:"One time I was in a school play and I fancied this girl, but she fancied another guy. So I put loads of salt water into the drink that he had to sip in the play. He spat it out onstage!"
Brian: A self-admitted straight-and-narrow kinda guy, Brian says that his early brush
with illness-a near-fatal blood infection when he was five-made him look for the positive
things in life. "That experience made [me have a] closer relationship with my famiy, with
all my friends, with church, and God. Growing up with that in mind, I stuck to my guns when peer pressure came around in middle school to do what everybody's doing. Instead of going out and partying...I'm not saying I was the best kid in the world, because everybody
has flaws. But it just made me a better person."
Howie: "For four years,in elementay school,I was heavily involved in plays, one after the next. I was a little ham! I would sing higher notes than the girls next to me! I sang in the children's choir at my church, and then I went into the men's choir. I sang throughout high school.
A.J: "I was a bit of a nerd in school and was always a little bit diffrent from the others. All of the other kids had a knapsack for their school books and a lunchbox. I had
to be diffrent,so I had a briefcase for my books and kept my lunch in a paper bag. For some crazy reason I saw myself as a little buisnessman. For a while I wore glasses, even though my eyesight was perfect, because I thought that they looked cool. I guess I have always been a bit wacky."
Kevin: "I had a great childhood. I loved school, played Pop Warner football, rode horses and dirt bikes, and sang into a hairbrush in front of my bedroom mirror. I got my first keyboard when I was a freshman in high school, and pretty soon I was playing at parties and weddings."
