| On Septemeber 11, 2001 the United States was rocked by the one thing it never thought would happen..........We were made victims on our own soil. No one could protect the innocent from being made a target by an attacker not known at that split second. Three planes crashed into buildings making our fellow AMERICANS weapons against each other. Firefighters, Peace Officers, EMT's, PAradmedic's, Military Personal, and volunteers from the California coast to the Florida coast have flocked to the sites of tragedies. And I can honestly say that I will never forget the events that unfolded on my 25th birthday. I lost several friends and can say that I understand the lose of those in New York. I have also seen a world pull together and Americans that had lost sight of what our nation stands for. It has shocked me to see people I know that have never stood up for something are defending the one thing they know. THEIR FREEDOM. The freedom to be what ever in the world they would like to be. No one can take away ANY PART OF WHAT AMERICAN STANDS FOR. The people responsible for the incidents are only one thing........COWARDS. They can strike when there is no way to defend oneself, but WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES AND MANY OTHER COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD WILL NOT LAY DOWN AND SAY WE WILL NOT FIGHT BACK. Even if you didn't lose a relative, friend, co-worker or someone to have lost something with in your soul. Justice will prevail, those who believe will survive and the World will be strong if we stay united. As quoted from Lee Greenwood, "I'm proud to be an AMERICAN..........Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, GOD Bless the U.S.A" The poem following this is to all people around tHe world. Thank you to all of those who have given their time, money and most of all THEIR LIVES for people they do not know. Grieve, anger, and fear are the emotions driving us to survive. And many hearts are seeing terror for the first time in their life. Tragedy took lives, hope and our security away, But Spirit and courage forever in all of us WILL stay. United States citizens and the people in another land, Our countries will stand side by side to show together we WILL stand. Each and every one of us fight this war in our own way, There may be Shadows over us now, but the sun WILL shine again someday. The days ahead may be full of strive and negativity, Remember when the war is over, freedom WILL ring loudly from sea to shining sea. |
