| We agree that the laws in Indiana regarding the treatment of young children with mental, emotional or behavioral disorders, need to be changed. The Americans with Disabilities Act was written to protect people from the treatments described below. |

| ***There are no Placement Diversion Programs (the child lives at home and receives day treatment) available for a child under six years of age in Lake, Porter or LaPorte counties. ***There are no Residential Treatment Centers available to 5 year olds in the state of Indiana. They can be sent as far away as Illinois, Wisconsin or Ohio. ***In order for your young child to receive this placement, you must relinquish custody to the state. |
