| The Vikings where an ancient racial puritist tribe. Practicing racial purity of people with Blue eyes. Hitler copied much of his beliefs from the ancient Nordic warriors. The Nazi symbol of the German flag was a Viking emblem and he often used the term "blue eyed race". Although these people (some of who are are ancestors) were very powerful and they were also very hated because of their method of triumph. They were one of the first people to sell other people as slaves. They even traded slaves and spices with a tribe called the Rus (which is now Russian/Russia). In Scandanavian Mythology Odin and Thor where two of the most famous early Vikings. Odin was their god and Thor their ellite warrior. Thor is known as the Lightning Warrior and the weekday Thursday is named in his honor. Wednesday is named after Odin and Friday is after Odins wife Friga. Thor was so good with his hammer, it is believed that he was able to thow his hammer at an enemies head and have it return back to his hand. Odin is believed to have known magic and have powers of a god. As Viking power and belief grew stemmed Eric The Red. The Vikings with thier midevil beleives help colonize the new world. The Vikings hired great sailers and mercaneries to fill their tribe. Along the way they conquered other tribes and sold them or kept them as slaves. They were very brutal people and murdered many of the inicent. They established great trade routes and developed modern technology from ideas they stole from other peoples. Most of all they developed the art of war. Their weapons were always state of the art as were their ships and horses. Hitler idolized the Vikings and most of his believes were taught to him in the Austrain school he attended. Hitler believed himself to be a great Viking blue eyed warrior. We have learned the importantance of conquest from the Vikings and we have also learned not to tread our paths on others. Man can learn quit a bit from other great civilizations. Man must win at all cost in order to survive. Success does not mean triumph over others. Success comes in the form of gain and making mass enemies is not winning. Surviving with others is a win in my book. Whether it is the Egyptions, the Vikings, the Africans, the Romans, the Jewish or other great civilizations mankind can learn from thier mistakes as well as thier advances. Science was not created from the begining, it evolved through time. The Vikings conquest soon faded out as they had made many enemies on the territories they treaded on. They where upset by the English and stumped by the French.
