Electonics Technology was practically invented by Thomas Alva Edison. Going beyond Edison's first inventions we now
deal with integrated circuits within larger systems. Electronics Technicians are people who isolate problems which occure in electronic systems with specialized instruments. We can break down the subject of electronics into three core areas:
devices
circuits
systems

Electonics exist because of reactions which take place in semiconductor material. Semiconductor materials store charges. Their are two regions (or types) in semiconductor material which are opposite to one another:
P-type material and N-type material

P stands for positive ion
N stands for negative ion

Ions store charges. The charges are either positive or negative. When the two material are used together they make a circuit.

Their are a variety of electronics tutorial available on the internet. I'll build a list, check them out!

If your serious about electronics for use as a career or in the military you'll be interested in becoming certified. The certification for a Electronics Technician (E.T.) is call C.E.T. for Certified Electronics Technician (C.E.T.).
The certifications are given by the IEEE. You can find out more information by going to the links I have provided below.

ISCET International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians-

IEEE The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-
