1. This is a special calendar for handling rush jobs. All rush
jobs are needed yesterday. With this calendar, a job or
project can be ordered on the 7th and delivered on the 3rd.

2. Many companies set Friday deadlines, so there are three
Fridays in every week. This is also beneficial for those
persons who are paid on Fridays.

3. There are eight new days added to each month, to allow for
month-end panic jobs.

4. There is no 1st of the month, thus avoiding late delivery
of the previous month's last-minute panic jobs.

5. Monday morning hangovers are abolished, along with
non-productive Saturdays and Sundays.

6. A new day -- Negotiation Day -- has been introduced keeping
the other days free for uninterrupted panic.

Take a break and... when you get back to your cubicle, you'll work better...;)

Subject: 1999 Calculations...FUN!!!

YOU WILL NEED A PENCIL AND PAPER. . . IT ONLY TAKES 30 SECONDS! DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!!!

Work this out as you read:

1. Pick the number of days per week that you would like to dine out.

2. Multiply this number by 2.

3. Add 5.

4. Multiply it by 50.

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1749. If you
haven't, add 1748.

6. Subtract the four year digit that you were born.

Your should now have a three digit number.

The first digit fo this was your original number (that is, How many days you wanted to dine out each week).

The second two digits are your age! It really works.

This is the only year (1999) it will ever work. . . So send your friends to this site; spread the fun around while it lasts!

You'll like this one:
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man
was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all
his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside.

Finally, he would have the joy of seeing all of it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Epilogue. . . .There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."
The origin of this letter is unknown. The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.

She said, "Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a giant squeeze.

"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked. She
jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, have a
couple of children, and then retire and travel."

"No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

"I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!" she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and Experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and
simply said "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this
whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began:
"We do not stop playing because we are old;
we grow old because we stop playing.
There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success.
"You have to laugh and find humor every day.
"You've got to have a dream.
When you lose your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!"

"There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability.

The idea is to grow up by always finding the opportunity in change."
"Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."

She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose."
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.

At the years end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

I'v learned that no matter what happens, or how Bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a
"life".

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt
On both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if
You focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and
Doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I
Usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I do not have to be one.

I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch - holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly
Pat on the back.

A SPECIAL NOTE:
People will forget what you said
People will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel...

Remember, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY, GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
HOW MANY OF US KNOW AND PRACTICE THIS ?.....
