Lamping:
Lamping is a type of shooting that involves searching for your quarry with a lamp (spotlight)and the when your quarry has been spotted you would most commonly be shot with either and air rifle eg, .22 or with a shot gun eg, 28g 410g, 20g, 16g, 12g or a small rifle eg, .22 rimfire. some time's people set the dogs after them.

Ferreting:
Ferreting is a highly sucessful way of rabbiting. Using the ferrets, you would put a ferret fing on its neck so if it kils the rabbit down the hill you know where exactly where to dig it out. Once you have put the ferret down the whole you will cover the hole with a purse net so if the rabbit runs out you can catch it and neck it. You can also get nets to cover a whole range of warrens and then the ferrets can go round them all and incase you put the purse net over one hole the rabbit might bolt out of another hole. Some people don't put net over, they just wait for the rabbit to bolt out and then either shoot it with a shotgun or let the dogs to chase it.

Using Dogs:
There are 2 main dogs that are used for hunting rabbits, they are lurchers (grey hounds, whippets etc.) and border terriers. We personly lie border terriers more because they better for going DOWN fox holes. lurchers are better for catching rabbits as they are faster (and they can also catch hares), and they can also catch foxes on the ground.

Snares:
Using snares is probably the crulist way of controling rabbits. a rabbit snare is made our of brass, one end has got an eyelet (a brass circle) and the other end of the wire is put through it, so it like a lasoo. Now their is only one end ans that end has got two pieces of string so you can tie it to a fence or knock a peg into the ground and tie it to that.
when yoiu have found a rabbit run (where rabbits like to run) knock a peg into the ground and make it so the rabbits head will go into the circle. once the rabbits head is in the snare the snare will tighten, and the rabbit will keep pulling to get out making the snare tighter and tighter. snaring cause suffication and a broken neck. if you catch a rabbit in a snare, you will see how thin the neck becomes.
the best place to put snares in under a fence, you will be able to see where the run is as the fence will be bent up a little bit and you can see where the rabbit run is that leads to it. The advantage of having the snare tied onto the fence is that unless you have done a really losse not it cant come loose, but some times when using pegs, the rabbit some times pulls them out, and then you have lost your rabbit and your snare.
