Foxes are the biggest pest to britain farmer by eating their livestock such as lambs and kids. And here is a few simple ways to control them. Please, please, please will you not attempt any of these if you live in a town as you will get the police on you, the neighbers and the anti's.

Lamping:
Lamping is a form of shooting animals (most commonly foxes and rabbits) at night under a spotlight (lamp). the best type of gun for foxing is a high volosity rifle eg. .222, .223, .243, .222/50, .303 or for close range shooting a shot gun eg. 4b, 12b, 16b, 20b.

Terrier:
Using a terrier for foxing is a very good way for fox control, the terrier goes down the fox whole and will do what ever it is trained to do, some train the dogs to kill the fox down the whole, some train their dogs to hold the fox down the hole, with a terrier finder so that the terrier can dig the fox up and shoot it safely (which fox hunts do when the fox runs down the hole and they have the farmers permission to kill the fox), and some train the dogs to chase the fox out of the hole either into a purse net, to be chased by faster dogs such as lurchers, or to be shot as it goes out of the hole, usually with a shotgun. The most common terriers are Jack Russels, Patterdales and Border Terriers.

Snaring:
Snaring foxes is said to be the most humane way of fox control. Snaring involves using a wire snare and putting it were you think a fox is most likely to go (like infront of a hole or in a fox run) and when the foxes head goes through it the wire tightens, and causes sufficatuion and a broken neck. The way Ben and i snare foxes it place some thing that a fox will eat (the things that work best work best are things like dead rabbits, sheeps liver etc.) and put 4 fence post around it and put sheep netting around it so that the fox can't get in. and the put some netting on top so that the fox can't jump into the trap. Then put a holeat the bottom of each side big enough so that the fox can get in and then attach the snare so then the only way for the fox to get to the bait is.......THROUGH THE SNARE!!!

Trapping:
Trapping foxes is an effective way of fox control. You use a simple bait such as a dead rabbit, live etc, and then put it in you trap. Deppending on the trap different ones will shut the cage in different ways, their are some that when the fox tug's on the meat that is hanging on a hook and it pulls the pin out that is holding the cage door up. Some traps have a trip wire, that when the fox trips on the wire it pulls the pin that holds the door up. Other ones like the ones we use, the fox tread on a pland of wood, and when the fox treads on it it pulls the pin out that is holding the cage door up.

Making the trap is really easy. All you do is weld a cage but leave one of the sides out. Then you make sure that the door can not move apart from when you want to . Then Get A Nail And attach some wire to it. then attach a plank of wood to the wire. when it is set, the cage door should be in the air and the plank of wood should be at a 45 degrees angle so when the fox treads on it, it wil pull the wire and the pin will come out so the door will drop. the trap should be about 1 1/2 metre long and 1 and a half foot wide and about 50 metres high. make it so the plank of wood covers the whole with of the trap and is about 1 metre into the trap so that when door goes down the fox is fully in it. When baiting it up, put the meat behind the wood so that the fox has to tread on the plank of wood to get to the bait.
