| About Familia Heart's Fish Tanks |
In my home my Fiance and I keep a few bowls and a 2 gallon tank.
The bowls have 2 male bettas and one female who is too agressive to be in with our other little girls.
The Boys:
In one bowl we have a Grizzeled Blue Vail Tail named: The Marble Guy
The Marble Guy is in a standard hard plastic bowl with a Coca-Cola lid so he doesn't try to jump out and commit suicide.
Next we have Big Bad Red: (my Fiance named this one)... Big Bad Red is in an Ivy Rimmed Bowl.
Big Bad Red is an all red vail tail betta with some blue and black hue on him. He's got an attitude from hell... We actually tried to breed him with a couple of the girls, but he's just too agressive and we ended up with a couple girls who werepretty ill for while.
The Girls:
Daisy: Daisy is the only female Betta Splenden that we have in her own bowl. She's a little too agressive to be in the tank with the other girls, and ends up trying to fight with everyone no matter how long we keep her in it.
Daisy is a Royal Blue with Red splash on her tips of her fins. She's Beautiful. My Fiance bought her for me one day while I was at work.
Rosie: Rosie is a Cambodian Double Tail. We actually found her in a petshop. The funny thing is that she's Breeding AND show quality! This is what happens when you cull your batch before their old enough to see what they will be looking like! We were lucky to find her. There were actually a few in the bunch, but she had the most coloration in her tail and the least on the body. Rosie is in our "girl's tank".
Lily: Lily is a White Opague. We actually found her the same way we found Rosie. Someone culled their fry and sold her to a pet store without waiting to see how she would turn out. She's also breeding quality, but I dont beleive she's show quality because she has a SMALL black splash on her tail. She's also in our "girl's tank". Rosie and Lily get along just fine and they NEVER fight with each other. We plan on breeding her as soon as I can find a male to match.
Other Fishies:
Betta the Guppy: Betta the Guppy is his name. We have ONE male guppy (his mate died), who is actually in the "girl's tank". We really didnbt have a name for him until just last week, when we realized that he thinks he's one of the girls!
Betta thr Guppy swims around with the girls, will almost always eat their food instead of his own, and just LOVES where he's at. I even caught him the other day trying to act agressive towards the boys when I took the paper off of their bowls so they could see the girls and eachother and get a little exersize! Betta the Guppy was wriggling around JUST like the boys do! The only difference is he doesnt have the ability to flair! |
