| A Prayer For My Child |

| As I sing a lullaby to my precious child, I watch her eyes grow heavy. She opens her eyes, fighting her sleep She smiles at me and I recall the day she was born. She gave me that same smile. This is my darling child, I hold in my arms, The one who I love the most. She is loving, kind and beautiful. She is my gift from God. I close my eyes and begin to pray. This is what I say. As I lay you down to sleep. My precious Lord your soul will keep. And if you cry throughout the night, Lord send her visions of angels and butterflys Lord keep watch over this child, bring her contentment within her smile. Let the warmth inside her grow, and let my love for her show. Watch her Lord, day and night, let no harm near this child She is an angel sent from above, to watch over me, to live and love. I open my eyes as I feel a tear rolling down my cheek. I look down at my little girl who is fast asleep. I give her a kiss and lie her down She gives me a grin, yet makes no sound Oh lord give me the strength to raise her right. Lord do not let her out of your sight. I say this prayer in Jesus name Amen |
