Now, I guess you all want to know about the new and exciting features of GOLD and SILVER.

Well, there are going to be an additional 100 pokemon to collect, making a grand total of 251, a staggering number. Also, to make things even more challenging, each pokemon will have a gender, like the nidorans have now, and you will ba able to breed them!

There are also going to be several new features to add to the cool pokemon. First up is the new improved pokedex. Hopefully it will include more useful information than the rather poor effort in red/blue. Also, there is the rucsac and skateboard to contend with, which should make movement and item retriaval easier. Next up is the Pokegear, an all in one unit that incorporates a cell-phone and data restoral programme.

On the down side though, is your rival, who will be tougher than ever, and will start off at a much superior level to you, making life that little bit more difficult. Gym leaders should be harder than ever to beat as well, adding even more trouble to your journey. The eight gym leaders are as follows (Japanese) - Hayato, Tsukushi, Akane, Matsuba, Shijimi, Mikan, Yanagi and Ibuki. Another interesting feature is the encorporation of mini-puzzles, much like in zelda dx or mario party for the N64. An example is kabuto puzzle.

Another interesting feature is the real-time clock mode, where if you play the gameboy at day, you will catch day pokemon, and if you play at night time you will catch nocturnal pokemon! So, set your alarms for midnight poke-catching! (as if we werent up all night doing so anyway!)

One other fact is the beginning, where you start in a totally different world, and with three different pokemon to choose from: Waninoko, a water Pokemon(evolves in to alligates), Hinoarashi,a fire Pokemon (evolves into magmarashi) and Chicolita a water pokemon(evolves into Beirfiu). You still have to suffer prof. oaks rambleing and jittering, but bear with him, it's bound to get better.

So, how long do we have to wait?? is out in Japan now and it comes out in September 2000
in the USA.
