Kris of Indiana: I think this is the best Miss Teen USA Pageant I have seen. I thought all 51 contestanst were all at the same level, and had no idea who would make top 10. My top 10 were..Georgia, Colorado, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, Indiana, Maryland, and Montana, (with Washington and Nebraska as alternates.) I got 7 out of 10 including Washington who was my 11th place, this ties with 1997 for the best of getting top 10, when I got 7 then also. I was REALLY surprised not to see Massachusetts in top 10 who I thought was really stunning, maybe she was just to mature for Miss Teen USA, who knows. Also I was dissapointed not to see Colorado in top 10, who thought was really teeny. I was really excited to see District of Columbia in top ten who hadn't made top 10 since 1987. I was blown away with Pennsylvania..who I didn't even place in my original top 10, sometimes online photos don't do justice, she looked great on TV. I thought Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Texas looked great in swimsuit, and Louisiana and Indiana deserved higher scores, they looked great and even acted really teeny on stage, I don't know what was with the judges. I liked the swimsuits better then last year. I liked Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Louisiana in the evening gown segment, I personly didn't like Texas or Missouri's gown, it looked too Miss USA"ish", but they both carried them well. I thought top 5 were ok, but I would have replaced Texas with Indiana or Louisana. Top 5 interviews..it changes everything when you hear them talk.., I thought Georgia gave good answers, and was charming.., Pennsylvania was really charming, teeny, and bubbley, Tennessee, I didn't like her interview, Kentucky...just seemed so natural, and was funny...Texas was ok, but I didn't like it when she said Swimsuit was her strong point, like many have said, I thought she was too pushy. I wanted Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky for top 3, Top 3 final question interviews were all great..I had no idea who was going to win, although I wanted Pennsylvania or Kentucky. I was so glad to see Pennsylvania take the crown..she definately deserved it, Overall a great pageant...Congratulations to Jillian Parry Miss Teen USA 2000!
Rabah Al-Aawar of Lebanon: I must say that this year's pageant was an extraordinary one! I believe that it is the best Miss Teen USA Pageant ever done. I liked the opening. "Give me just one night" was an excellent idea. 98 Degrees performed it well. I really liked it. Especially that the delegates' names were announced, not like what happened in Miss Universe this year. As concerning the top 10, I must say that I guessed 4 right out of 10. Last year I guessed only 2. Great start for me I guess. I guessed Tennessee, Georgia, Washington, and Louisiana. I wasn't sure about the rest of the top 10. I was a bit confused if Missouri, Texas, District of Columbia, and Kentucky would make it, but I wasn't expecting Pennsylvania and indiana at all to make it. They were a surprise for me. Now what happened next, the "walk and talk" process, where the delegates had to walk and hear them saying some bios of themselves. Actually, I believe it was a good idea here. What happened at Miss Universe 2000 was bad. I just wanted the top 10 to speak. But here, the top 10 at least spoke, so I don't mind if the interview competition is removed, though I miss it. Then the swimsuit competition appeared, and the delegates were wearing Bikini.com swimsuits. I liked Tennessee, Texas, District of Columbia, and Kentucky. They were the best and they were the ones that had the most killer bodies of all the other 10. And by the way, I liked Rachael Lampa's performance. The 15-year old girl sang "I live for you" well. I liked her song a lot. Then, the evening gowns. I say, what glamour and elegance. Though I disliked some of delegates gowns, but they were walking on stage confidently. I disliked Indiana's gown the most. It was too simple. Also, Missouri seemed old in brown. And for Pennsylvania, Her gown was beautiful, but it didn't look nice on her body. And I can't mess with Westlife, for they did a good job singing "Swear it Again." I've always liked that group. After this the top 5 were announced, and I picked the 5. I understood then that the pageant's theme is "survivor." It was a good idea. But I'm very shocked with Tennessee and Georgia. They were nervous and lost their stuff in this portion I guess. But what I hated then is that the top 3 were announced differently this year. the drop 2 had to "leave the island" and I hated this a lot. Didn't the producers think of how would the delegates feel when they're told in front of the audience, "I'm sorry, you can't compete any more? I believe that they will start to feel ashamed of themselves for they start saying that they could have done better. Anyway, Tennessee and Georgia had to leave, and Pennsylvania, Texas, and kentucky, had to continue. Then the final question, and Pennsylvania answered the best here and she was the best in the "survivor" portion. So, she won, and became the first Pennsylvanian to win the title of Miss Teen USA. Congrats to her and may her reign be as beautiful as she is.
JRAINO1: I have to say that only 2 of my top 10 favorites actually made it into the Top 10. They were Miss Georgia and Miss Washington. I also wanted Miss Virgina and Miss New York to make it into the top 10. Well there's always next year. It's really odd to find that my top 10 favorites never become Miss Teen USA. I enjoyed watching the Pageant last night but the girls i was depending on to win the title never did. I was pretty disappointed. But at least it wasn't like last years Pageant it was a big disappointment for me. Because I was routing on Miss Louisanna to become Miss Teen USA but it turned out to be someone else.
KLC1277: I think that the Miss Teen USA pageant was horrible. I participate and watch pageants very often, and I have never been so embarrassed of a pageant system, the way I felt on Saturday night. I can't believe how poorly cheorographed the show was. Who ever thought of having the girls leave the stage? I think it is hard enough not to make top 3 once you have made it to top 5, but to have to leave the stage, how ridiulous. I think for a televised program, and with 2 weeks to prepare, the girls didn't know where to go, or what to do! The final question, who would have even thought of having the contestants vote one another off the show anyway. It shouldn't have even been a question or concern. On another note, how the heck didn't Miss Georgia, not make top 3! She was outstanding and Miss Kentucky also! I don't think Donald Trump is doing a good job in the pageantry world, I think he needs to stick with Casinos.

Miss Teen USA Pageant 2000: Shreveport, Louisiana: August 26, 2000
This years Miss Teen USA Pageant has come and gone. An exciting year of pageant preliminaries and hundreds of girls wanting the Miss Teen USA title. Tonight Miss Teen USA 2000 was crowned in what I think was one of the best Miss Teen USA Pageants since 1996. Many of your comments by differ from mines, particulary because I am a teenager. None the less, it was a tight competition and wasn't as predictalbe as previous years.

Opening Number:
98 degrees opened the show with one of their songs. They performed while the delegates were being introduced. The style that Miss Teen USA is portraying is hip with the teenage flava. When each Miss Teen USA Delegate was introduced, a video of her turning her head appeared behind her. I don't know about most of you, but I liked that feature. However, I disliked the fact that each delegate was seen for about 2.5 seconds. Considering that I haven't really followed this years pageant and took the time to critique the avaliable pictures, I didn't have very many favorites. For the most part all of the delegates looked great. I kind of figured that the top 10 positions were up for grabs. I found myself just sitting back and enjoying the show instead of being nervous.

After all the Miss Teen USA Delegates were announced I found a couple of favorites, pretty much the same that were in my top 10. I was not at all suprised to find out the theme of the pageant was "Survivor".

The 51 Delegates competed in Interview, Swimsuit and Evening Gowns. The top 10 were chosen from those events. Miss Teen USA is a hard pageant to pick judge so I wasn't suprised to find that I had only got a few of the ten. My top 10 included New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, District of Columbia, Missouri, West Virginia, Massachusetts, California and Nevada.
Official Miss Teen USA Top 10:
(Last time state made semi-finals, placement)
Missouri: Caitlin Marie McIntosh (1996, Finals)
District of Columbia: Tiara Dews (1987, Semi-finals)
Kentucky: Kristen Johnson (1999, Semi-finals)
Indiana: Kera Boog (1994, Semi-finals)
Tennessee: Casey Lauren Porter (1999, Semi-finals)
Washington: Megan Monroe (1989, Semi-finals)
Pennsylvania: Jillian Parry (1996, 1st Runner Up)
Georgia: Abby Vaillancourt (1994, 1st Runner Up)
Louisiana: Jonine Aimee Moch (1999, 1st Runner Up)
Texas: Nicole O'Brian (1999, Semi-finals)
There you have it the official Miss Teen USA Top 10. I was not suprised I only got 3 of the 10. I was very suprised that District of Columbia, Washington and Pennsylvania made top 10. DOC has not made the semi-finals in over a decade, so Tiara has alot to be proud of. Washington has not made it in a decade also, two new states for the new millennium. Unfortunantly, 2 states have never made the semi-finals and they keep there streak going for the 18th year, Montana and Nebraska. These 2 states usually sends beautiful girls but they get no justice. I was also dissapointed to not see Illinois, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Particualry New Jersey who I look to see going across the Miss USA stage soon. Considering that I had no idea who the front runner was out of this group, I thought Georgia and Lousiana would do very well.
Let the games begin...
No Interview competition. The Miss Universe Organization has done away with Interviews in the semi-finals. So pretty much the semi-finals is strictly a beauty based competition. The delegates modeled on the cat walk while they gave a little bio of themselves. Again from this competition I could not find a standout. However, I fell in love with DOC, I liked her Afro and spunk. Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Missouri all looked great.

Swimsuits:
The Swimsuit competiton was good. The 15 year old girl that was singing did a good job but this proves that Miss Universe wants to put more emphasis on a concert instead of the pageant or delegate for that matter. The delegates wore swimsuits from Bikini.com. I guess they were nice, better than thr Speedo's used in 1998 and 1999.
1. Texas
2. Tennesee
2. Pennsylvania
4. Georgia
5. Kentucky
6. Louisiana
7. Washington
8. Indiana
9. District of Columbia
10. Missouri
After Swimsuits, I thouht oew no this is going to be another Texas sweep. Texas had a beautiful body. I was suprised that Georgia placed so low. Missouri was my favorite for the crown so I was disapointed that she ranked last. DOC and Louisiana had killer bodies. What were the judges thinking. I don't want to say the judges were racially biased but these 2 delegates were underscored tremendously. Pennsylvania, yet a little too skinny looked great as did Kentucky.

Evening Gowns:
All I have to say is that West Like rocks. West Life is a great Irish band that rocked anmd rolled during the Miss Teen US Evening Gown competition. However, the music and musicians took away from the delegates. I miss the old music like 1997 and soundtraks like 1996. Though, West Life did great. I was hopeing Missouri and DOC would place high because I really wanted to see them in top 5.
1. Pennsylvania
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Kentucky
4. Tennessee
6. Washington
7. District of Columbia
8. Louisiana
9. Missouri
10. Indiana
Pennsylvania WOW!. She wore a beauituful simple white gown. Truely deserved to be 1st. Texas has a nice gown however, I didn't like the glitter. Kentucky wore a beautiful gown that fit her perfectly. DOC should not have placed so low. I think the judges were trying to keep her out of top 10. However, her gown might have for Miss USA better than Miss Teen USA. I am glad Ali and Julie didn't make any crude comments like they did last year.

Top 5:
Because I had seen the scores, I already knew who made top 10. I was a little dissapointed to find out that no African American madwe top 5. It is evident that had the Interview competition been intact, DOC and Louisiana might have done better in the remaining 2 comeptitions.
1. Kentucky
2. Tennesee
3. Pennsylvania
4. Georgia
5. Texas
I was upset that Missouri didn't make it. She deserved to be in top 10. However the top 5 were great. I just would have liked to have seen a African America delegate in top 5.

"Survivor"
The top 5 played the question and answer game "Survivor". All of the question were related to being on a deserted island with co-survivors. The stage was trandformed into a jungle, with lots of plants and fire torches. All I can say is that Pennsylvania was WOW! again. Instead of givning pageant answers, she sounded and acted like a teenage girl would.
Kentucky: Gave a great and entertaining Interview. I looked for her to be in top 3.
Tennesee: I think she got off to a bad start, I didn't like her interview at all.
Pennsylvania: What can I say, she is a teen!
Georgia: I thought her interview was good but it was going to be a toss up for a top 3 spot.
Texas: She was just a little too pushy. I didn't like her interview at all. But I think she would make top 3 anyway.

More Awards...
Clairol Style Award: Georgia, Abby Valiancourt
Photogenic: Kentucky, Kritsten Johnson
Congeniality: Idaho, Shari Short

My top 3 consisted of Pennsylvania, Kentuccky and a toss of between Texas and Georgia. To keep with the theme of Survivor, the delegates were not voted off the stage by her fellow delegates like previously reported, instead the judges decided who would go. Instead of the top 3 delegates being named, the 2 delegates whom did not make the final 3 were called. Like Julie and Ali, I felt so sorry for Georgia and Tennesee when there names were called and their tourch lights went out. It's nice, CBS wants to make the theme of the pageant similar to its number 1 show, but these are teenagers, it must have been very embarressing for them both.
Final 3:
Kentucky, Kristian Johnson
Jilian Parry, Pennsylvania
Nicole O'Brian, Texas

Final Question:
The final 3 delegates answered a question in response to the fact that the producers of Miss Teen USA wanted to let the delegates vote off 2 of the top 5. When this was announced it caused a controversy that many of the Miss Teen USA delegates did not like.
Kentucky: I think she was sweet and I liked her answer. However, I think that she did well enough in the competition to place as 1st or 2nd.
Texas: After Nicole gave her answer, I being to have my doubts about Pennsylvania winning. Nicole gave a straight forward answer. However, I placed her as 1st.
Pennsylvania: What can I say, Jilian wowed me the whole night. I knew that the Miss Teen USA crown had to have been hers.
This years top 3 was one of the closest in years. It was unpredictalbe. The Miss Teen USA crown could have went to any of the 3.

Final Walk:
Miss Teen USA 1999, Ahsley Coleman took her final walk as Miss Teen USA. Truely a natural beauty. I look for her to be on the Miss USA stage if she does not get hit with success.

Final Results:
2nd Runner Up: Kristian Johnson, Kentucky
1st Runner Up: Nicole O'Brian, Texas
Miss Teen USA 2000: Jilian Parry, Pennsylvania
Pennslyvania won the title of Miss Teen USA 2000. She was most deserving, but like i said the crown could have went to any of the top 3. Pennsylvania has never won the Miss Teen USA crown and its the 2nd year that the Miss Teen USA crown will stay in the North East.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JILIAN PARRY, MISS TEEN USA 2000!

Julie and Ali: Get rid of them. They are getting old. They have been lost there spunk. Get rid of them. Bring in former Miss Teen USA's like, Ashley Coleman and Vanessa Minillo to co-host.
Brian McFayden: What can I say. Someone who came in to do what he is paid for. Good hosting duties, he is a keeper. No side comments about the delegates and swearing.
Overal Pageant: Overall the pageant was great, but I guess we will never go back to the old days of Miss Teen USA where the focus was on the Delegates instead of the musical guests.
Judges: Verne Troyer (Mini-Me); Ramona Gray ("Survivor"); Julio Iglesias Jr. (Latino Musician); Wilmer Valderama (That 70s Show); William McNamara ("Beggers and Choosers" Atoosa Rubenstein (editor and chief of Cosmo Girl magazine); and Tara Dakides (2000 World Champion snowboarder and winner of the 2000 X-Games).
