Miss Teen USA Pageant Viewer Comments:
Ashley of Kentucky: I am a teenager from Kentucky but originally from Tennessee so of course I was pulling for KY and TN. I thought the top 10 was great. I was glad to see the person tapes from the girls. I guess they replaces the interview questions with that. However, I don't like them not doing the Interview segment with the Top 10 because I really do think there would of been a diffrent outcome with the Top 5. The whole night I was praying that Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia would get in the top 3. I thought that Texas was to confident about her winning the Miss Teen USA title from the start of the pageant. I don't think she was shocked at all when she was announced in the top 10. I think that Pennsylvania and Distric of Columbia was the shockers. There wasn't a shock with Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, or Kentucky. I thought that North Carolina would of made the top 10. I read some comments about switching the co-host. I think it would be great to bring back Vanessa, Ashley and Shelley Moore. I even think that Bridget Jordon who was 1rst runner up to Vanessa would be a good one. I just get tired of seeing the same girls on the show all the time. I have to say to my friend Kentucky that you represented our state well. I thought you did the best and I was rooting for you 100%. Congradulations to Miss Pennsylvania and I hope that you have a succesful reign.

Miss Teen USA Pageant 2000:
This years Miss Teen USA Delegates in my opinion are all medicore. There are no true stand outs, I think overall all the delegates are on the same level. With that said it makes for a good competition. I scored all 51 delegates in Interview, Swimsuit and Evening Gowns. Below I will give the top 10 in each category and then my final top 10. Usually, I would have done this a week before final night where I can receive criticism but college is hectic.

Interview:
This is Miss Teen USA so I am looking for teen answers. For the most part, alot of the delegates were straight forward and right to the point, others wrote long answers to a question. Interview is hard to score because you are reading text that has been "done up" by state directors and thesauruses. I scored the delegates based on Education, goals and charity work. Below are the delegates whom I think have the best Interviews.
New Jersey
West Virginia
Missouri
Florida
District of Columbia
Kansas
South Carolina
Louisiana
Colorado
North Carolina (Tie)
Georgia (Tie)
I fell in love with New Jersey. She is smart and intelligent, if she should have make top 10, I look for her to do very well. District of Columbia had a great Interview that I enjoyed reading. Again, most of the delegates said alot of the same things but a good competition. I look for any of the girls above to have done well in Preliminary Interview.

Swimsuit:
This is a difficult category to judge especially when all I have to go by is a still picture. But, a picture is worth 1000 words. Many people stress that large delegates are fat and should not be competing. I object to that, large delegates are usually healthy and beautiful. Skinny delegates are usually anorexic. I don't know if these are problems at Miss Teen USA but to me all of the delegates looked great. I scored the delegates in stance, stomach, height and toned body.
Georgia
North Carolina
California
District of Columbia
Massachusetts
New Jersey
Indiana
Alabama
South Carolina
Missouri
All of the delegates looked great. California and Virginia are both large delegates, I look for either one of them to place in top 10. My bet is on California though. Georgia (WOW!) she looked wonderful. She is tall, has a toned body and long beautiful legs. North Carolina and South Carolina were surprises, beautiful bodies. Iowa and Oklahoma lost out, they are just too skinny. Particularly Oklahoma. I look for any of the above delegates to have done well in Preliminary Swimsuit but in this competition, my bet is on Georgia.

Evening Gowns:
After the first two events, I figured that Gowns would have to be the deciding factor. Many of the delegates had gowns that were out of the ordinary like Ohio. There are others but I don't remember them. Very few of the delegates had "oh la la" gowns, they were all average. Sources say that Arkansas paid $8500 for her gown, if she did I would take it back after competition. I scored the delegates based on her gown & color, make up, hair and overall stage presentation. Below are the top 10 delegates with the highest scores in this category.
New Jersey
Kentucky
Georgia
Kansas
New Mexico
Alaska
Nevada
Louisiana
Hawaii (Tie)
South Carolina (Tie)
North Carolina (Tie)
Beautiful gowns on beautiful delegates. New Jersey won this competition without a doubt, I loved the way her gown fit her. Georgia kind of reminds me of Miss Nevada Teen USA 1999, but Abby is strutting her stuff in a beautiful red gown. Alaska was the looker in this category, she had on a nice black gown. Louisiana looked great, she has alot of support from the audience, she is the hometown girl. I look for any of these girls to place high. I can't really critique the girls because of time, but all of them looked good.

That's it, the top 10 in the 3 major categories. Now I have ready my final Miss Teen USA top 10. This is what all of you have been waiting to see for the past couple of weeks. I am sorry it is so late but college takes first priority. Now here are my Miss Teen USA top 10.
Jamil's Miss Teen Top 10:
New Jersey
Georgia
North Carolina
South Carolina
District of Columbia
Missouri
West Virginia
Massachusetts
California
Nevada
Last year I think I only for 4 out of the 10 right. This is Miss Teen USA, it is hard to predict who will be in top 10. North Dakota is the major powerhouse at Miss Teen USA, I don't think North Dakota will make it. New Jersey and Georgia are both beautiful delegates who have many diverse backgrounds. North Carolina I have liked from the beginning. District of Columbia has not made the top 10 since 1987, I think they will make it tonight. The buzz from Shreveport is that West Virginia and Missouri have a spot in the bag. California, I have just started to like, she is a looker. Massachusetts has varying looks, for her to make it, it all rides on Interview. I don't think she can win, considering she looked similar to the current Miss Teen USA. Everyone else are surprises on my list but I think they have strong chances.
Possibilities:
Kansas
Louisiana
Kentucky
Colorado
Maryland (Tie)
Mississippi (Tie)
The above 5 are 50% of my bubble list. I think they have the best chances to make the top 10. They didn't excel in all 3 categories but clearly semi-finalist material. Any of them may make it in top 10.

Other 50%:
Florida
Illinois
Alaska
Alabama
From this group I would like to see my home state Illinois make top 10. Kimberly may just be a little but too prepared though. I would like to see Alaska in top 10, they have not made it since 1991 when the delegate placed 1st.
Here is how the remaining 31 delegates placed:
21. Hawaii, Indiana, New Mexico
24. South Dakota
25. New Hampshire
26. Nebraska, Montana
28. Delaware
29. Texas, Maine
31. Washington, Utah
33. Tennessee, Oregon
35. Vermont, Wisconsin
37. Oklahoma, Pennsylvania
39. Idaho, Rhode Island
41. New York, Virginia
43. Wyoming, Minnesota, Arkansas
46. Ohio
47. North Dakota, Michigan
49. Arizona
50. Connecticut
51. Iowa

There you have it. My final Miss Teen USA results. Now all I can do is just sit back and see how well I do. I don't know who will make top 10 but I can only hope its delegates who appreciate it. I want a Miss TEEN USA not Miss USA, someone like Ashley Coleman that was a teen when she won. See if my list compares to yours.
