Miss Idaho America: 6/17/00
Christi Teil, 21, of Blaine County, was crowned Miss Idaho America. She is a student at Northwest Nazarene College. Her platform is Character Development. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Christi Weible; Jennifer Orton; 3rd runner up was Tyra Leonard; and the 4th runner up was Katie Bullington.

Miss Indiana America: 6/17/00
Betsy Bobel, 22, of Chesterton was crowned Miss Indiana America. She is a graduate of Ball State University & her platform is "A Healthy Beginning". She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Melissa Cary; 2nd runner up was Tangra Riggle; 3rd runner up was Sally Sholl; and the 4th runner up was Jodi Kurtze. The semi-finalists were Lori Brokaw; Sarah Wiley; Amy Lotierzo; Breanne Rhoton; & Heather Winter.

Miss Louisiana America: 6/17/00
Faith Jenkins, 23, of Lagniappe, was crowned Miss Louisiana America. She is a law student at Southern School of Law. Her platform is: DEAR-Drop Everything and Read. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Shelley Colvin; 2nd runner up was Katy Guyton; 3rd runner up was Sabrina Plaisance; and the 4th runner up was Melissa Clark. The remaining semi-finalists were Kelly Fontenot; Dominique Moanzella; Casey Crowder; Waketha Harris & Rebecca Suarez.

Miss Maryland America: 6/17/00
Sonia Maria Amir, 24, of Bethesda, was crowned Miss Maryland America. She is a graduate student at the University of Maryland-University College. Her platform is Promoting Positive Peer Pressure in our Youth. The 1st runner up was Deborah Chien, 23; 2nd runner up was Felicia Curry, 21; 3rd runner up was Camille Lewis, 20; and the 4th runner up was Courtney Thomas, MD, 24. The semi-finalists were: Tamika Johnson, 20; Deborah Hoffman; Susan Woda, 24; Nikki Gouker, 20; & Toni Rickard, 22.

Miss Michigan America: 6/17/00
Che'vonne Burton, 18, of Redford Township, was crowned Miss Michigan America. She is a graduate of The Academy of the Sacred Heart; her platform issue is: Elderly Mistreatment Awareness and Prevention: "Building A Society for all Ages". She was Miss Michigan Teen USA 1997, and will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Andrea Jones; 2nd runner up was Leslie Anderson; 3rd runner up was Erin Barrone; and the 4th runner up was Rebekah Decker. The semi-finalists were Jacqui Colston; Annette Hohl; Sabrina Frawley; Rachel Hasselhuhn & Jordan Carson.

Miss Minnesota America: 6/17/00
Katherine Hill of Twin Cities, was crowned Miss Minnesota America. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Heidi Hammond; 2nd runner up was Stacie McBride & the 3rd runner up was Katie Christensen.

Miss India USA: 6/3/00
Ritu Upadhyay of Illinois was crowned Miss India USA. She is a graduate of Northwestern University. She will represent the USA at Miss India Worldwide Pageant on November 25 in Tampa, Florida. The 1st runner up was Juhi Shukla of Virginia; and the 2nd runner up was Apra Bhandari of New York. 27 women competed in the 19th annual pageant. Madhu Sapre (Miss India Universe 1992) & Shyla Lopez (Miss India World 1992) were guests of honor and presented a fashion show.

Miss Indonesia:
Bernika Irnadianis Ifada, 23, of Jakarta, was crowned as Miss Indonesia. She will present Indonisia around the world to boost Tourism. The 1st runner up was AA Ayu Inten Leonny Dhamma Prativi, 19; and the 2nd runner up was Mandy Adriani Tutuarima, 20.

Miss Iowa America: 6/10/00
Theresa J. Uchytil, 24, of Urbandale was crowned Miss Iowa America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant. The Iowa born beauty only has one hand and her talent is baton twirling. Her platform issue is "Facing the Challenge." The 1st runner up was Ginger R. Wolfe, 24, of Davenport. She will compete in the 2000 Miss National Sweetheart Pageant. The 2nd runner up was Christine Marie Shelledy, 22; 3rd runner up was Jennifer Eklof, 18; and the 4th runner up was Laura Miller, 22.

Miss Nebraska America: 6/10/00
Jill Penington, 22, of Great Plains, was crowned Miss Nebraska America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant. Her platform is Focus on the Elderly. The 1st runner up was Angie Laudenklos; 2nd runner up was Christina Foehlinger; 3rd runner up was Brook Matthews; and 4th runner up was Wendy Koch. Brandi Holys; Krista Knicely; Brenda Williams were semi-finalists.

Miss New Mexico America: 6/10/00
Martha A. Cobb was crowned Miss New Mexico America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Erin Griggs, she will compete in the 2000 National Sweetheart Pageant. The 2nd runner up was Andrea D. Owens; 3rd runner up was Carissa Cleverley; and the 4th runner up was Robin Delamater.

Miss North Dakota America: 6/10/00
Carrie Haberstroh, 20, of Red River Valley, was crowned Miss North Dakota America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. Her platform is "A Will & A Way!" The 1st runner up was Katie Hayden; 2nd runner up was Kate Keating; 3rd runner up was Jill Samuelson; and the 4th runner up was Angie Biby.

Miss Oklahoma America: 6/10/00
Kristin Steveson, 22, of Tulsa was crowned Miss Oklahoma America. Her platform issue os "Volunteering" and she will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Sharie Surface. Casey Preslar; Kesha Gullett & Libbi Rose rounded out the top 5.

Miss Delaware America: 6/10/00
Junnie Cross, 21, of Hockessin was crowned Miss Delaware America. Her platform issue is Cultural Diversity Awareness. The 1st runner up was Elise Eckerd, 2nd runner up was Erin Cooper; 3rd runner up was Kelly Kuhns; and the 4th runner up was Cheryl Crow. The semi-finalists were Jaclyn Garton; Lauren Metzer; Julie Robertson; Patricia McCausland; & Nicole Hopkins.

Miss Kansas America: 6/10/00
Amy Lea Shaw, 21, of Arkansas Valley was crowned Miss Kansas America. Her platform issue is "Mentoring - Help Pave the Way.. ". She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Mary Ellen Wurz; 2nd runner up was Jahree Thaw, Miss Boot Hill; 3rd runner up was Jeanne Ann Schroeder; and the 4th runne rup was Kimberly Brown. The semi-finalists were Kelsey Carver; Kimberly Grice; Shantell Ringler; Allison Ryan; & Hilary Meyer.

Miss Massachusetts America: 6/10/00
Michelle Ann Neves, 22, of Pioneer Valley was crowned Miss Massachusetts America. She was Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 1994 and will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Tia Dionne Roper; Melissa Silva; and the 3rd runner up was Abbie Lynn Rabine. The semi-finalists were Jennifer Nancy Roy; Elizabeth Ann Browne; &Tiffany Ann DeBritto.

Miss Missouri America: 6/10/00
Arron Wendel, 23, of Ray County was crowned Miss Missouri America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Jamie Praechter; 2nd runner up was Jennifer Hoover; 3rd runner up was Brandi Harris; and the 4th runner up was Laura Nicole Lea. The semi-finalists were Tara Bollinger; Tara Fenton; Cora Zweifel; & Kara LeFevre.

Miss Hawaii America: 6/9/00
Angela Perez Baraquio, 24, was crowned Miss Hawaii America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. Her platform issue is "Character Education". The 1st runner up was Liane Nanea Kanani Mark, 22. She will compete in the 2000 Miss National Sweetheart Pageant in Illinois. The 2nd runner up was Billie Kiyoka Takaki, 23; 3rd runner up was Allicia Lopes, 21; and the 4th runner up was Juliet Lighter, 24.

Miss Globe: 6/10/00
Joan Carolina Chopite of Venezuela was crowned Miss Globe 2000 in Turkey. The 1st runner up was Danielle Moraes of Brazil. More info to come.

Miss World University 2000: 6/9/00
Renata Fan of Brazil won the title of Miss World University in South Korea. She also won the Miss Popularity Award. She is also the first contestant from Latin America to hold the title. The 1st runner up was Sandra Bretones of France; 2nd runner up was Lilita Leice of Latvia; 3rd runner up was Ganna Vruglevska of Ukraine.

Miss Croatia World: 5/27/00
Andreja Cupor, 18, was crowned Miss Croatia World. She will compete in the 2000 Miss World Pageant. The 1st runner up was Ana Gruica; and the 2nd runner up was Tihana Zrnic. Paola Poljak was awarded Miss Media. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Europe Pageant in July.

Miss Wyoming America: 6/3/00
Kimberly Wilkerson, 23, of Gillette was crowned Miss Wyoming America. Her platform issue is Volunteerism: Serving, Learning, Loving". She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Carla Cirks, 21. She will compete in the National Sweetheart Pageant in August. The 2nd runner up was Emily Monroe, 24, 3rd runner up was Sally Greywall; and the 4th runner up was McCall Erickson, 18.

Miss Pennsylvania America: 6/3/00
Melissa Jeka, 23, was crowned Miss Pennsylvania America. Her platform is "Educating Our Youth on the Fatal Effects of Smoking". She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Kira Delgado; 2nd runner up was Misty Dawn Clymer; 3rd runner up was Autumn Marisa; and the 4th runner up was Nikesha Moore. The semi-finalists were Jenna Wileski; Courtnay Griswold; Kelley Gamble; Marci DeGol; & Dana Maleniak.

Mister Poland: 6/5/00
Andrzej Bizoñ, 24, of Witkowice won the title of Mister Poland. The 1st runner up was Marcin Brzeniak, 23; and the 2nd runner up was Wenacjusz Majer from Poznañ .

Miss Cote d'Ivoire: 6/3/00
Linda Delon Kouame, 18 of Yamoussoukro was crowned Miss Cote d'Ivoire. She will compete in the 2000 Miss International Pageant. The 1st runner up was Lou Amelie Boblin, 20; and the 2nd runner up was Marie-Claire Kadio, 20.

Miss District of Columbia Teen USA: 6/2/00
Tiara Dews was crowned Miss District of Columbia Teen USA. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Teen USA Pageant in August. The 1st runner up was Kashawna Foster; 2nd runner up was Lauren Vanderpool; 3rd runner up was Serena Reeder; and the 4th runner up was Gina Garland. The semi-finalists were Lauren Brown, Ria Burgess who was also the Congeniality Award winner; Kandi Newton, Jasmine Preston, & Tangi White.

Miss Mississippi USA: 6/2/00
Melanie Vaughn of Olive Branch was crowned Miss Mississippi USA. She will compete in the 2001 Miss USA Pageant in Indiana. The 1st runner up was Angel Vesa; 2nd runner up was Melissa Pitts; 3rd runner up was Pamela Manning; and the 4th runner up was Jennifer Sanders. The remaining semi-finalists were Jeri Isham, Rayanne Kent, Beverly Sisson, Deitra Thompson, & Jamie Young.

Miss Mississippi Teen USA: 6/3/00
Jennifer Duke of Pearl was crowned Miss Mississippi Teen USA. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Teen USA Pageant in August. The 1st runner up was Jenny Replogle; 2nd runner up was Kelly Albritton; 3rd runner up was Leslie Rocconi; and the 4th runner up was Lesli Bacon. The remaining semi-finalists were Mimi Chassaniol, Misti Fortenberry, Lee Ann Hankins, Dana Lambert and Jessica Hill.

Miss Maine America: 5/27/00
Renee Belanger, 22, was crowned Miss Maine America. She will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Courtney Manning; and the 2nd runner up was Rachel Wadsworth. The remianing finalists were Mikell Reed; Angelique Burgoin; Meranda Halford; Danielle Shay.

Miss Bern: 5/27/00
Mascha Santschi was crowned Miss Bern. She will compete in the Miss Switzerland Pageant on September 16, 2000. The 1st runner up was Jennifer von Daeniken; and the 2nd runner up was Anita Schumacher.

Miss Korea: 5/27/00
Sa-rang Kim was crowned Miss Korea. She also won Miss Internet and will compete in the 2001 Miss Universe Pageant. The 1st runner up was Jung-sun Shin who won Miss Photogenic and she will compete in the 2000 Miss World Pageant. The 2nd runner up was Tae-young Shon and she will compete in the 2000 Miss International Pageant. The 3rd runner up was Eun-jin Chang and she will compete in the 2000 Miss Asia Pacific Pageant. The 4th runner up was Min-ji Shon; 5th runner up was So-yoon Park and the 6th runner up was Mi-sun Park. The remaining semi-finalists were Mi-jin Lee; Hyun-ah Lee; Se-na Lee; Woo-jin Shin; Joo-young Chujg; Bo-ra Park; So-young Kim; and Won-ah Kim. Natalria Ham won Miss Friendship.

Miss Portugal Universe 2001: 5/27/00
Telma Santos, 18, was crowned Miss Portugal Universe. She will compete in the 2001 50th Anniversary Miss Universe Pageant. The 1st runner up was Tania Ferreira, 18; and the 2nd runner up was Liliana Aguiar, 20.

Miss Hawaii USA: 5/11/00
Christy Leonard, 21, was crowned Miss Hawaii USA. She will compete in the 2001 Miss USA Pageant in Indiana. Alicia Michioka won the Photogenic Award; Cameo DeCosta won the Popularity Award.

Miss Hawaii Teen USA: 5/11/00
Lauren Madden, 17, was crowned Miss Hawaii Teen USA. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Teen USA Pageant in Louisiana. The 1st runner up was Pilialoha Gaison who also won the Congeniality Award. The 2nd runner up was Justine Michioka; 3rd runner up was Marisa Wahl, 16; and the 4th runner up was Sophie Banal, 15.

Miss Vermont America: 5/19/00
Hannah Nelson, 24, was crowned Miss Vermont America. Her platform issue is "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" and she will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Kayla Bahbahani, 23; 2nd runner up was Amy Johnson, 20; ad the 3rd runner up was Sarah Jo WIlley, 22.

Miss Utah USA: 5/13/00
Tiffany Seaman was crowned Miss Utah USA. She will compete in the 2001 50th Anniversary Miss USA Pageant. The 1st runner up was Holly Beardall, and the 2nd runner up was Amie Duford. Libby Hanks won Miss Congeniality and Tisha Bullock won Miss Photogenic.

Miss Thailand Abassador: 5/13/00
Panadda Wong-phudee was crowned Miss Thailand. She also won Miss Photogenic. The 1st runner up was Sao-waros Sripratum who won Miss Popular and the 2nd runner up was Kuntheera Satta-bongkot.

Miss Universe 2000: 5/12/00
Lara Dutta, 22, of India was crowned Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus. She won the prestigious title over 78 delegates from around the world. The 5'8" beauty also was 1st runner up in the Best National Costume Competition & also won the Oscar De La Renta Swimsuit competition and gets a $2500 modeling contract. The 1st runner up was Claudia Moreno, 22, of Venezuela. The 2nd runner up was Helen Lindes, 18, of Spain who also won the Photogenic Award. The finalists were Kim Yee, 22, of Canada & Lynnette Cole, 22, of USA. The semi-finalists were Catalina Ines Acosta Albarracin, 22, of Colombia; Evelyn Mikomagi, 19, of Estonia; Sonia Rolland, 18, of France; Heather Joy Hamilton, 22, of South Africa; & Corrinne Crewe, 18, of Zimbabwe who also was 2nd runner up in the Best National Costume Competition. Letty Murray, 20, of Mexico won the Best National Costume Competition and the Clairol Herbal Essences Style Awards. Tamara Scaroni, 23, of Aruba won the Congeniality Award. Miss Caribbean Queen: 4/2/00
Miss Grenada was crowned Miss Caribbean Queen in St. Martin. The 1st runner up was Miss Aruba. Miss Trinidad-Tobago won the Best National Costume Award.

Miss Hawaiian Tropic International: 4/29/00
Marie-Yves Dufort of Quebec was crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic International in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Miss Rhode Island America: 4/29/00
Jennifer St. Laurent, 24, was crowned Miss Rhode Island America. She was also the Preliminary Interview and Talent Winner. Her platform issue is "Organ and Tissue Donation" and she will compete in the 2000 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Dana Damiani; 2nd runner up was Roslyn Menon; 3rd runner up was Jennifer Bessette; and the 4th runner up was Jocelyn Chong who also won the Community Service Award. The Academic Achievement Award went to Camille Gerwin.

Miss New Hampshire America: 4/29/00
Lauren Jennifer Meehan, 19 of Nashaua was crowned Miss New Hampshire America. Her platform is "Attachment/Adjustment Disorder: Break the Cycle and Form the Bond" and she will compete in the 2000 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Jennifer Nolet, 22, who also won the The Meg Geraghty Community Service award; 2nd runner up was Audra Paquette, 19; 3rd runner up was Amy Grace Slattum; and the 4th runner up was Candace K. Glickman, 18, of Manchester. Melissa Amy Grise, 21 of Bristol won Miss Congeniality; Melissa Dawn Koufopoulos, 22, of Auburn won the Scholar Award; and Laura Lynn Short, 22, won the Community Service award.

Miss Michigan Teen USA: 4/22/00
Kylie Lyn Rhew, 17, of Bridgman was crowned Miss Michigan Teen USA. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Teen USA Pageant. The 1st runner up was Megan Gardner; 2nd runner up was Emily Elizabeth Penn; 3rd runner up was Tanya Wyniaskyj and the 4th runner up was Dinah Anand Shah. The semi-finalists were Danielle Raushi; Amanda LaPere; Jessica Stephens and Kristi Anne Nohl. Danelle M. Gay won Miss Congeniality.

Miss Connecticut Teen USA: 4/22/00
Lisa DeLeo, 16, was crowned Miss Connecticut Teen USA. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Teen USA Pageant. The 1st runner up was Christina Loomis, 16, and the 2nd runner up was Joyce Cassie Kennedy, 16. The remaining semi-finalists were Erica Durso, 17; Vanessa Silveira, 17; and Christine Zottoli, 16.

Miss Houston USA & Miss Houston Teen USA: 4/22/00
Kelli Pickel was crowned Miss Houston USA. She will compete in the 2001 Miss Texas USA Pageant. The 1st runner up was Jessica Guzman; 2nd runner up was Amanda Lange; 3rd runner up was Candace Jackson and the 4th runner up was Charlotte Odnowski. Pamela Roezner was crowned Miss Houston Teen USA. She will compete in the 2001 Miss Texas Teen USA Pageant. The 1st runner up was Ashley Doughtie and the 2nd runner up was Lindsey Harvey.

Miss Alaska America: 4/14/00
Audrey Solomon, 20, was crowned Miss Alaska America. Her platform is "Musical Outreach" and she will compete in the 2001 Miss America Pageant in October. The 1st runner up was Eugenia Premis and the 2nd runner up was Kristina Bellamy who was Miss Alaska Teen USA 1994.

Miss Greece: 4/17/00
Nancy Tzoulaki, 18, of Athens was crowned "Star Ellas" Miss Greece Universe. She is a model and also won the Miss Shining Smile and Miss Hair Style Awards. She will compete in the 2000 Miss Universe Pageant in May. The 1st runner up was Alexandra Ousta, 18, of Athens and she will compete in the 2000 Miss International Pageant. Eleni Skafida, 21, of Athens was crowned "Miss Ellas" Miss Greece World. She is a Fashion Design Student and will compete in the 2000 50th Anniversary Miss World Pageant in November. The 1st runner up was Demetra Kitsiou, 22, who also won Miss Diva of the Year and will compete in the 2000 Miss Europe Pageant. The remaining finalists were Natasa Naki, 19, and Tina Stamatogianni, 26, who also won Miss Smart Look. Evi Petridou won Miss Body Beauty Award; Vaso Verala won Miss Beautiful Eyes.
