| The Story of Baybee Ayleeyin Baybee Ayleeyin's Summer Vacation Chapter 5 Arriving in Honolulu Baybee Ayleeyin was sleeping when we landed in Honolulu. Darla and I took turns holding him in the baggage claim area at Honolulu International Airport. He woke up in time to help us carry his suitcase and his cockatoo doll. Hawaii is so beautiful. There are palm trees all over the airport grounds. Wonderful, exotic flowers are everywhere. We were greeted by strangers and presented with sweet smelling leis of yellow and white plumerias. Baybee had to be reminded not to eat them. In the taxicab to the hotel, Baybee Ayleeyin was talking to his cockatoo buddy. We noticed he had given it a name. "Buddy," Baybee said, "This Hawaii. Great place for Baybee and Buddy." Then he hugged Buddy. As Darla and I were putting our things in the drawers and on hangars, we heard Baybee talking out on the lanai. We both thought he was talking to Buddy. But when we went out to him, he was putting the telephone receiver back in the cradle. "Who were you talking to, Baybee?" Darla said. "Baybee talk to Mommy and Daddy." He said. "Mommy say Baybee stay here. Baybee learn more, get very smart. Mommy and Daddy come to visit soon." We figured that a good imagination is a healthy one. (Week 3) |
