The Story of Baybee Ayleeyin
Chapter 4
Solar System Wizard
Saturday mornings are great for sleSaturday mornings are great for sleeping in, but not this morning. As I was snuggled deep in my covers in my soft warm bed I was startled by all the excitement in the living room. I could hear, "Oooowheee, Uh-uh-ooooo, Yeeeeah, and lots of giggling. Baybee Ayleeyin found the video games.
He figured out how to turn the video games on and set it all up. He was on the floor in front of the TV with the controls in his hands. This little guy was on level 15 of Asteroid Master. I never could get past level 6 myself. Darla got to level 9 once.
Darla and I watched as he was dodging the spaceship on the screen through a maze of bombarding asteroids. He was blasting the enemy Klingoid craft with his proton laser gun and about to arrive at the planet Neptune. There he would rescue Princess Nalani from the evil nemesis, Hutar.
He paused the game, turned to us and said, "Neptune, 8th planet from sun, sometimes 9th, 4th largest - 49,532 kilometers, atmosphere - hydrogen, helium and methane. No good to breathe. Too cold. Earth nice."
He turned back to the game and proceeded to rescue Princess Nalani, lock Hutar in the Interplanetoid Prison, transport the Princess, and return the stolen Vapo-Syntho-Purification Machines to King Zeuto on planet Azrok, in the Galenon Galaxy - level 20.
How do you keep finding new things to interest someone so smart?

Baybee Ayleeyin's knowledge about the solar system really interests me. I do not remember all the things I learned in school about the planets. I want to remember. I asked him to teach me all about our solar system.
Darla walked in the room carrying a tray of sandwiches, cold drinks, and a candy bar cut into three fairly equal pieces, and set them on the table. Baybee Ayleeyin said, "Mom Very Early Made Jam Sandwiches, Ugh! No Peanut-butter!" I asked him what he was talking about. Darla said, "No, I made turkey sandwiches. And I am not mom." He repeated, "Mom Very Early Made Jam Sandwiches, Ugh! No Peanut-butter!" "I do not understand." I said. Then he said, "Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. That how you remember the planets near and far from the sun." "Oh, wow. I get it now. Mercury for Mom, Venus for Very, Earth for Early, Mars for Made, and so on. That's real cool. Mercury is the closest and Pluto is the farthest." I said.
"Not all the time." Baybee Ayleeyin said. "Huh?" I gasped. "No, Pluto not go around sun in circle, called orbit. Pluto go around the sun like shape of egg. Sometimes get closer than Neptune. Sometimes go farther away." "Oh, when Pluto gets closer to the sun it becomes the 8th planet." Darla said.
"Teach me more." Darla and I said as we all sat down for lunch.

Baybee Ayleeyin finished his sandwich first and let out a rude burp. "You must say, 'Excuse me' when you burp, Baybee." Darla said. "Baybee not rude." he said, "Baybee show you gas." "That is rude." I stated. "No, Baybee show sun not planet. Sun big burning ball of gas, like stars in night." "Only see stars at night because so small. Sun big, big, big, can see in day time. Sun so big, can fit 1 million Earths inside."
Darla said, "In my Greek and Roman Mythology class, I learned that the ancient Greeks called the sun Helios." Baybee Ayleeyin affirmed, "That why the planets orbit around the sun called heliocentric system." "I got it." I snapped. "The sun is made of part helium and the system is centered around the sun." Baybee Ayleeyin added, "Sun three part hydrogen, one part helium."
"This is so cool." Darla said. "I forgot all about what I learned in school about our solar system." "Teach us more, Baybee, but leave out the burps, please."
Baybee took us outside. He put his section of the candy bar on a glass plate on the sidewalk. In just a few minutes the candy was melted into a puddle of chocolate on the plate. He picked the plate up and held it to his face. He gave us both a side-eye look, winked and proceeded to lick the melted chocolate off the plate. "Baybee, that is really bad manners." Darla said. "Baybee not bad manners." He said. "Baybee show sun very, very hot. Melt candy."

Baybee Ayleeyin ran into the house without notice, leaving Darla and I standing in the hot sun. Darla went in to see what he was up to. After a short while, I saw her standing at the door, still looking inside. She called me in to see Baybee Ayleeyin running around in circles in the living room, around the coffee table. I have to admit, this little guy could run very fast. We stood there watching for a while until he finally stopped in front of us. He was not at all winded. "This baby is in condition." Darla said.
Baybee Ayleeyin said, "Mercury small, rocky planet that orbit very fast around sun, like Baybee ran around table." Darla added, "Mercury was named for the Roman god Mercury, the winged messenger, because the planet was fast like the god. I should be able to remember that. I asked, "Wasn't Hermes the winged god?" Darla assured that Hermes was the Greek version.
Baybee Ayleeyin made a sad face and put his head down. "What's the matter, Baybee?" I asked. "Baybee sad," he said. "Mercury have no moon. Baybee like moon." As we comforted Baybee Ayleeyin, he started to fall asleep. I carried him on to the couch for a little nap.
"Sleep sweet, little guy," Darla said.

Darla was helping me clean Iggy's terrarium while Baybee Ayleeyin was taking a nap. Iggy was sitting patiently, supervising as we took the rocks out one at a time to wash them, dry them and carefully replace them. An Iguana's home is his castle. It is not easy trying to remember where each rock was. Iggy would pout if we put his rocks in the wrong place. Nobody wants a sourpuss iguana around.
"Earth, Earth, Earth." Baybee Ayleeyin came running into the den shouting. "We talk Earth, now." I almost dropped Iggy on the floor. "Earth most beautiful planet. Plenty life, plenty lizards. Pretty trees on Earth. Nice people, too. Earth best planet.
"I guess Baybee Ayleeyin is up from his power nap." Darla said. Turning to Baybee she asked, "Why do you like the Earth so much?"
Baybee answers. "The night Baybee born, Baybee mother show Baybee beautiful star in sky. Baybee newborn, not real smart, think planet is star. Baybee Mother say Baybee go Earth get education, grow up be something someday. Earth have MOON. Baybee love moon."
"Baybee, we have to go out for some pet food for Iggy right now. Do you want to come? We can talk more later." I said.
