The Story of Baybee Ayleeyin
Chapter 2
Oh, So Cute
With his long, slender fingers, he began to point at things in the refrigerator. The little baby alien was trying to show us what he wanted to eat. We were amazed. Let's face it, we haven't stopped being amazed all morning. It isn't every day you find a baby alien in your neighborhood.
First he pointed at the milk. "This is good." Darla said. I poured a cup of milk and offered it to him. He grabbed the cup and dumped it all over himself. "Okay, maybe he needs a baby bottle." I said. Darla gave me a condescending look, "We don't have any baby bottles." I ran to the garage to rummage through boxes set aside for thrift donations.
Returning with two nursers, badly in need of washing, I found the Baybee Ayleeyin inside the refrigerator. What a mess. He had Ice cream all over his face. Banana peels were scattered in the refrigerator and all over the floor. The milk carton was on the floor, leaking milk under the refrigerator. Grandma's "Fine Chocolates" were no longer in the box of crumpled little brown papers. The cupcakes with the white squiggles on top were all but vanished from the tray.
I stopped him just before he could stuff a raw egg into his mouth. He smiled up at me and started that cute little giggle of his. Who could be mad? I giggled along with him.
Just then Darla came in.

Darla saw us laughing. She did not know whether to laugh with us, or cry at all the mess. When we all stopped our giggle-session, Darla explained how she set the baby down to draw a bath for him after pouring milk on himself.
We could not figure out if we left the refrigerator open, or if he was going to amaze us further with super strength and abilities. Don't blame me
I watch TV and movies too, you know.
Assuming that the little fellow had dined sufficiently, we took him in for a much-needed bath. We could only hope that he would like the same temperature bath water that we did. HE DID.
The tub was pretty full of warm water. Darla set the baybee ayleeyin in slowly. He wiggled out of her hands and
Do you know what he did next?

This little guy started to swim in the tub. Not on top of the water, but under the water swimming like a fish. We were worried that he might hurt himself. Darla tried to grab him around the middle as I tried to stop him from going forward. Have you ever tried to catch a fish with your bare hands? That is what it was like. All we could do is watch him play in the water. "I guess soap is out." I mentioned.
After what seemed like a long time, the tiny creature sat up and started his little giggle again. He looked at us both and just smiled. He had a huge, warm smile. When he blinked his enormous black, shinny eyes, all we could say was, "Oh, so cute." He really was.
"Now what?" Darla said.

Darla toweled off the baby as he giggled and wiggled. I went to find some suitable clothes for him. I found a couple of old T-shirts that shrunk in the wash. One had a picture of an endangered sea turtle on the front. Another T-shirt was of Betty Boop in New York city, dressed as Marilyn Monroe in the white halter dress. We needed to go shopping.
