The Story of Baybee Ayleeyin
Chapter 3
This Is Fun At The Fair

"I love the fair, don't you?" Darla asked. Turning to Baybee Ayleeyin she said, "You are going to have a wonderful time, I know it." We each took one of Baybee Ayleeyin's tiny hands to hold so he would not be frightened in such a large crowd. People everywhere were having a good time. Most of them were either eating or shopping. Baybee was alert to the happenings around us. Something in particular caught his eye.

In a tent off to one side, a show had just begun. A man and a women dressed in chicken costumes were clucking. They were inviting passersby to come and be seated on the bails of hay that were set up as bleachers. Baybee tugged at us to go to the show.

I am glad I picked seats in the back of the tent. The chickens selected participants from the audience in the front rows. They selected a man and a woman to mock their actions as chickens. The chickens had the participants strut and compete for cheers from the audience. The couple even layed eggs. Everyone in the audience laughed. Baybee got such a kick out of it he could hardly stop laughing.

When the show was over, Baybee Ayleeyin was clucking and imitating the chickens on stage. He made us laugh. This little alien was such a pleasure to have around.

"Are you getting hungry, little guy?" I asked.

People were walking around with smoked turkey legs, ears of corn, corn dogs and all sorts of tasty food. We decided on the corn-on-the-cob for lunch. It was fun watching Baybee Ayleeyin eat the corn. It looked like he was eating one kernel at a time.

There were kiddy rides at one end of the fair grounds. Baybee seemed to be interested in the ones that looked like little rockets attached to spokes on a large horizontal wheel. Small children were already seated. There was one empty rocket left. I lifted Baybee Ayleeyin into the seat of the rocket and head him say, "Fly, fly up." He spoke. First he said "Baybee Ayleeyin." Now he is saying new words. As the ride started, he said, "Bye, bye." and waved to us. He could be heard laughing over all the other noises. He had a distinct, high pitch laugh. This little guy is such a pleasure to be around.

We each got a big hug from Baybee when he got off the rocket ride.
