Pennevenner........
adressen i Holstebro.

er typisk lukket inde i sin celle 23 timer i døgnet med 1 times udgang, enten til gårdtur eller bad;
ører i verdenen udenfor....
Linda Magtengaard
lindam@inform-bbs.dk

Keith, mødte jeg i Georgia, her sommeren 1999.

"Hi Sherry,
How are you? I know you're probably wondering who I am. I am very close
friend of your husband, Patrick.
(DU KAN LÆSE OM PATRICK UNDER SAGSAKTERNE ) We talk all the time and he seems to think
I need a pen pal. And he's right. I do need a friend to correspond to. My
name is Charles Snowden. I'm forty six years old, six feet tall, weigh one
hundred seventy five pounds. Here is a picture of me. (VI KAN IKKE BRINGE BILLEDER HER) I've seen you on the
visiting yard with Patrick a few times and I hope this penpal is as lovely
as you. I was hoping you could help me find a pen pal. I appreciate
whatever you able to come up with. So I'm going to lay back and wait. Keep
my fingers crossed and hope for the best. You take care of yourself. Keep
sweet. A friend, Charles"
I met Charles Snowden. He is African American. The photo does him no
justice at all. But then what prison photo does? Patrick says Charles is a
straight up guy, lots of integrity, good man. I have no idea why he is in
prison.
Blessings,
Taoss

"I'm sincere, honest understanding with a positive attitude, and a great
sense of humor. Enjoy reading, drawing, listening to rock & blues and riding
Harley's. I don't have much but I'm a good listener with a kind heart. I seek
friendship nothing more, nothing less, so if you are out there and I know you
are, drop me a line.
I have made a mistake. I've been locked up a little over eight years, with
six of those years being spent on death row, and I'm now serving a sentence
of life without parole. I lived a life which didn't involve a lot of "real"
friends - fast, hard lifestyle, which I'll admit was selfish and greedy in
ways, me following more confusion than understanding. I'm not close with
family or friends from when I was a civilian, and would welcome new friends
to share with.
I'm 33 years old, white, 5'10, 145 lbs. Hazel eyes, brownish blond hair.
Seeking life long friendship. Foreign mail welcomed."

Please respond to me on this:
Thomas D. Arthur is on death row at Holman Prison in Alabama. His time is running out. He pleads
for his life to Alabama courts that refuse to listen. He begs for us to find him an attorney, and no
one responds to him. He asks us to find him an investigator, and no one writes to him. He writes:
Please don't let me add up to the number of executions that killed the wrong person.
Justice will never be served. I have a lot to live for, and if it is within your means or power PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Many Thanks
Please respond to:
THOMAS D. ARTHUR
Z. 427 DEATH ROW - 6D11
HOLMAN PRISON 3700
ATMORE, ALABAMA
36503-3700
U.S.A.
I look forward to your letter!
He tells the world he is completely innocent
http://www.angelfire.com/nc/fredericus/kolkman.html
He writes about his case to Fred Kolkman in The Netherlands
http://www.angelfire.com/nc/fredericus/arthur.html
He describes what it's like living on death row
http://www.angelfire.com/nc/fredericus/alabama.html
The last letter I received from Thomas Arthus is post-marked 25 May 1999 and I just received it
a couple of days ago. He makes some suggestions of people we can contact for him, in an
effort to help him. Here are some of those contacts. I would like to know if anyone will take
Thomas' case, run down some of these people for him. I would also like to know if anyone
else will write to him, as he has no one. Here are the people for us to try to contact for Thomas:
CONTACT #1
Alan M. Dershowitz
Attorney at Law
Professor at Law
Harvard Law School
1575 Massachusetts Avenue
Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138
Telephone: 617-495-4617
Thomas writes about Dershowitz: "Best appeal attorney in U.S.A. (maybe world). Handled
Clause Von Bulow's appeal and retrial, found innocent and set free."
CONTACT #2
Davis Figures
State Senator - Democrate, Alabama
2054 Clemente Court
Mobile, AL 36617
Telephone: 334-432-0482
CONTACT #3
Professor Larry Marshall
Northwestern University Law School
CONTACT #4
[For Fred Kolkman] - woman in The Netherlands who may be able to locate an attorney
[ref: mention of this in first contact letter to Thomas].
CONTACT #5
Overseas Media to do a documentary on his case. He writes, "If I could get one of those
overseas (Germany, Sweden, etc.) to do a documentary on my case, it would force USA media
to interview me and the public would take notice."
CONTACT #6
University of Alabama Law School and Journalist Department - "If they would mount an attack
like Northwestern University of Chicago did on Illinois death row, Alabama could get results too."
Lastly, Thomas writes, "But back to time factor. When appeal time limits run out,
I'm screwed - naw, not screwed: fried....and for a crime I did not commit....AHHHHH (scream)!!!!!"
So, I am looking for someone who will offer to help Thomas Arthur find an attorney, one who is -
as Thomas writes it - "A bulldog attorney, not afraid to step on toes, spit in eyes of judges, in A-hole Alabama..."
Blessings,
Taoss

Earl McGahee, Sr
You will now see a story written by Earl McGahee, Sr., he is guilty of a crime, but his testimony
and his honesty is also a story about a man who changed, a man who feels love!
Earl is a death row inmate in Alabama. He sent us his article which follows. It was originally published in the
"We Care" Newsletter, Volume 26, Number 2.
When Jerry Gingrich asked me to write an article about my life, I tried at first to get out of doing
it and suggested some other Christian brothers who I thought would do a better job. But Jerry
didn't go for that. So after giving it some thought and prayer, I agreed to do it. I'm not proud of my past;
in fact, there is so much that I'm ashamed of. For the past seven and a half years, I have been living
on Alabama's death row for the crime of murdering my wife and her classmate. But praise
the Lord for the goodness and grace that He gives to all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus!
"All"this includes even me. Helped by a midwife, my mother gave birth to me on August 22,1957.
I have two older sisters and one younger brother. I newer knew my father who died when I
was very young. For male role models, I looked to my two uncles, both alcoholics, who had
been in the army during World War II.
My grandmother and mother raised me the best that they knew how. I was taught good morals
and values like telling the truth, not taking things that didn't belong to me, and respecting my elders.
But the older I became, the less important those values seemed to me. I was driven along by a
mind void of judgement. I did what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. In the beginning,
our acts of sin may seem innocent, but they always cause others around us to suffer. I have a
mother and a thirteen year-old son who can testify to this truth very well. I started smoking and
drinking when I was about 13 years old. By the time I was 15, I was smoking reefer. My mother
worried about me constantly. She would plead with me not to drink and rive, but I wouldn't
listen to her. Because of my stubborn ways, I received some expensive fines for DU I (paid by my mother)
and had several nasty accidents which totaled the cars I was driving.
On Sundays we had to make a choice. Either we wont to Sunday school and worship service
or we stayed at home and cleaned up the whole house. I chose church. But church never did
anything for me. I tried to find fulfillment in drugs, alcohol, fast cars, and women.
After graduating from high school, I followed my uncles ' footsteps by enlisting in the army where
I served for four years. There I cultivated a regular habit of shooting dope. I left the army, got married
for all the wrong reasons, and joined the U.S. Coast Guard for three and a half years.
Our marriage went from bad to worse. Eventually we separated. My wife went of to college and I
started taking classes at a technical school. I was filled with jealousy, hatred, bitterness, self righteousness,
and a murdering spirit. One morning I went to the campus to talk to my wife about getting back
together. She didn't want to hear it and I drew a gun and fired, killing both my wife and her friend.
I will newer forget it- the last day of my trial. That night in my cell when I knelt and asked God to
forgive me for what I had done. I told Satan to leave and I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life forever.
And He did just that. By his word I have been healed and delivered from my destructive ways. Is it
possible for a person to live for Jesus Christ on Death Row? Yes, it is possible by faith. Its matter
of personal choice. Every day I must choose to see myself as God sees me. Otherwise I would be
overcome with guilt and loneliness. But by faith I know that " there is therefore no condemnation
to those who are in Christ Jesus!" When God looks at me, he doesn't see a condemned man; he
sees a forgiven man! He doesn't see me as I was but as I am now in Christ-"a new creation; the old
has gone, the new has come!" Or as one translation puts it "a new species of being that newer existed before!"
My heart is fixed. I am going to serve the Lord God with a glad heart for the abundance of things that
He has done for me. I purpose that His Word shall be the final authority in my life. In return, He
helps me to walk in love, to testify to His grace, and to forgive those who try to offend me.
May the peace of God rest and rule in your heart as well.

Recent reading: "Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialogue.BK1" By

a sense from a Christian perspective but interesting, intriguing, and
enjoyable (for me). Draws and writes poetry and like gentle criticism
(would love a critique). Is a Christian with philosophical frame of
mind. No particular denomination. "When you break it down, they all
worship the same God". Likes the Norse bridge motif--the Bifrost

Death Row, San Quentin, California
" Greetings with a smile. I was just wondering that after going through my trial and all the media
statements about myself, could there be someone out in the world who would be with an open
mind to not take everything that has been said about myself. Could there be anyone who could
take the time to see for themselves, just who I really am. I don't have no complaints about my due,
as you can see by my photo, I have lived a life inside the walls, it is almost as though this is
"home sweet home", sad but true. The most often thought that I do have, is wondering if for
someone such as myself, can one ever fall back in love with life again, for myself, I feel that I do
not have that right, or even the time spent considering such a thought. "
