First off you have to want to be a BN, even get offended when someone says otherwise (like the time Mr. Schmit said I wasn't a BN because I hadn't seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail!!!! I felt so insulted that I borrowed the movie from one of my friends and watched it about a million times)
Second, others have to know this too. Make it a point of them knowing show your love for Music in every and any way possible!
Next strive for excellence in your music, Marching Band, Concert, Symphonic, Orchestra, WindEnsamble, even Pep Band, practice till you know your ready to show off your talent(this may take a while depending on the person)
Finally get involved! You can not be a BN and only be in one band my goodness how awful would that be, try out for the school musical, Jazz band, what ever you can get your little BN hands on take and take with pride!!!!!!!!! |

always Articulate,
Don't forget to Breathe!
Crescendo and
Dimenuendo;
Be Emotional,
But don't overlook the Fundamentals!
Gracenotes can be annoying,
But be happy your not apart of the Horn section
Improvisation is difficult,
But it pays off when playing Jazz.
Check the Key-Signature first,
And when in doubt--LOUDER--
Especially during Marching Season!
Watch the Notes,
And be most concerned with Octave jumps,
But don't forget to play with a little Pinache!
Quartertones are only in oriental music,
So you're probably just REALLY SHARP!
Trust your director with your life,
But make sure you Understand his interpretation.
A little more Verve, Woodwinds,
And don't forget the Xylophone!
Give it Your all,
