Two little girls, best friends for life
they tell their most sacred secrets and could never fight.
Dressing up and drinking tea,
dreaming of how much fun being grown-up would be.
As they got older nothing had changed,
best-friends for life; that's how they stayed.
Boys would come and boys would go,
but they would be there for eachother for tears and to hold.
Why did she leave, I miss her so, why was it her ten years ago?
She hadn't been bad, she did nothing wrong,
I still can't believe my best-friend is gone.
She got in the car coming home from that memorable night;
drinking he had done and was as high as a kite.
She wouldn't have drank that's just not her style,
most-likely figured--"home, just one measly mile".
Sitting home, expecting that call, about the kiss goodnight
details and all.
The next morning came and still no word from my friend,
except a story from her mother with a sad, sad end.
I'm sorry to say she didn't come home, but went somewhere else
where she won't be alone.
As I get older nothing will change, best-friends for life...
