| They may be 8.4%, but they're no weak cider! |
| "We regard music as a means of getting pissed in as many towns as possible" (8.4%) |
1. Can you give us some band history, including any previous members and what they're doing now?
8.4% was formed about two years ago as a four piece. The line-up was Poulsom: vocals, Dixie: guitar, Sid: drums and Mole: bass. We recorded our first demo, then added another guitarist, Jase, for our second demo. We then sacked Jase and Mole and recorded our last demo as a 3-piece with Poulsom playing bass.
2. What is the current line-up?
The current line up is Poulsom: vocals/bass,
Dixie: guitar,
Sid: drums.
3. How did you come up with the name 8.4%?
We got our name EIGHTPOINTFOURPERCENT from the side of a cider can when we were recording our first demo.
4. What other bands influence the music you play?
We are influenced by The Anti Nowhere League, The Clash, U.K. Subs, Hanoi Rocks, The Ramones and The Lords.
5. What is your favourite song / album of all time?
Poulsom: Dead Boys-Sonic Reducer, Dixie: Stones-Paint it Black, Sid: ABC-Look of Love!
6. What is your favourite song from your own set list and why?
Nobbie no friends because it's about Mole and he fucking knows it!
7. Apart from punk / ska, what other music do you secretly like?
Iron maiden, Dogs d'Amour, Duran Duran, Max Boyce(of course, boyo)
8. What music did you grow up listening to?
We grew up listening to all that bollocks above.
9. What's the most memorable gig you have ever played?
You're asking the wrong people here we can't remember playing any of the fuckers!
10. Do you regard music as a vein through which to project your views, political or otherwise, or is it an issue of money and given the chance you would "sellout" like The offspring and Green day have?
We regard music as a means of getting pissed in as many towns as possible.
11. What advice would you give to any up and coming bands?
We advise up and coming bands to listen to as much 8.4% as possible.
12. Any final comments?
The highlight for us so far will be when we support THE VIBRATORS at Llandudno West Shore club on September 17th.
