Mega Man

Get infinite lives

In the Bomb Man stage, you can get infinite lives by getting the one-up,
jumping out of the tunnel, and back into it before you hit the ground, and
the one-up will come back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level tips

Here is a kind of order you can use for making this game more easier:

1-Bomb Man (use your normal arm, anyway you don't have the choice!!)
2-Guts Man (use the Boat Man arm to kill him)
3-Cut Man (use the Guts Man arm and throw the block athim, the two
block and he is dead)
4-Elec Man (use the Cut Man arm to kill him. Don't forget to take the
special arm on this level with the Guts Man arm)
5-Ice Man (use the Elec Man arm to kill him)
6-Fire Man (use the Ice Man arm to kill him, I think he is the most
difficult character to kill)

When you are in the Dr. Wily stage, first you will have to beat a very
tough monster who is compose by block who keep moving all the time.
Use the Elec Man arm to kill him, that's the best arm to kill him.

After, in the second stage of Dr. Wily you will have to beat again,
against Cut Man, here you can't use the Guts Man arm cause no block's
are there, so kill him with your normal ball. After Elec Man is coming
back, kill him with the Cut Man Arm. After that you will have to beat a
character just like Mega Man, use the Elec Man arm and after finish
him with your normal ball!!

In the third stage, the boss is not that tough just use the Guts Man
arm and throw the four block at him and after finished your job
with your normal ball.

And the last stage you have to beat the four characters again, so
kill Boat Man with the Fireman arm, after kill Fire Man with the
iceman arm, after kill Iceman with the Elec Man arm, and after
kill Guts Man with the Boat Man arm. Next you will finally
have Dr. Wily in your face, so first of all use the Fire Man arm to
kill the plane, after when the plane is open just use the Cut Man
arm to finish Dr. Wily and after that, its over!!!! You have finished
Mega Man!! Use this trick and you will be happy to see the game
ending of Mega Man!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do extra damage with the Cutman Blade or the Elecman Beam
To do extra damage with the Cutman Blade or the Elecman
Beam, pause the game as soon as a hit registers, then immediately
unpause. This will result in multiple hits. By pressing Start rapidly,
you can do a huge amount of damage with a single shot.
This can work against you if you've been hit by Cutman
or Elecman.

Fighting the bosses

The best way to defeat the Dragondroid is with a charged up atomic
fire and several little blasts afterwards. You'll destroy hi in a hurry.

The best weapons to use in the stages, not the Dr. Wily Skull Castle are

Bubble Man: Metal Blade (4 hits) Tip: Don't jump too high and just let him
have it.

Air Man: Leaf Shield (2 hits) Tip: Jump over and run under air shooters
and get a clear shot. When he starts jumping, stand all the way to the
left, because he'll stop right in front of you, and then turn around to
shoot, making him a sitting duck.

Quick Man: Time Stopper (Full meter knocks off half of Quick man's
energy) Tip: Run and shoot. Keep running and jump over the boomerangs
when they converge and spread. He's weak, so pummel him.

Heat Man: Bubble Lead (4 hits) Tip: Shoot as soon as possible, and then
jump over his Atomic Fire. Repeat. watch out, Crash bombs RESTORE
his energy.

Wood Man: Atomic Fire (1 fully charged hit) Tip: Jump forward over
his shields and fire rapidly! crash bombs can go through his shield.

Metal Man: Quick Boomerangs (4 hits) Tip: Run at him so he jumps over
and launches 1 metal blade. Jump in between the Metal Blade and fire
at metal Man. Repeat. And remember, other than that, he fires only
when you do.

Flash Man: Crash Bombs (2 explosions) Tip: Jump just as you hear the
pling sound, and always stay above him. Never make contact, unless
you want to sacrifice energy and lure him into a crash bomb "time bomb".

Crash man: Air Shooter (2 hits) Tip: Jump and shoot at point blank range
for guaranteed shots. the safer way is too shoot, and when he jumps
over and launches a crash bomb, run away from the bomb and shoot him
in mid-air. Remember, only one crash bomb can be on the screen at a time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Robot Dragon:
Use Quick Boomerang. Try to stay on the right-most blocks.
Detachable Walls:
Use Metal Blade. (Remember you can aim in any of eight directions!)
Guts Dozer:
Use Bubble Lead or Quick Boomerangs. You can safely stand on the front end.
Orb Room:
Use Crash Bombs. Be careful if you blow all the walls away you won't
have enough Crash Bomb energy to take care of the orbs. You can only afford
to take out the two walls that directly block the orbs (use the Items to
reach the rest), and even then you must enter the room with the Crash
Bomber fully charged. You can, however, take out some or all of the walls,
kill yourself, then recharge the Crash Bomber and come back to take
care of the orbs. (The orbs will come back the walls won't.) Also,
if you're having a hard time dodging their shots, try hitting START rapidly
right before they connect, and they'll go right through you!
Wily 1st time:
Use Metal Blade or your arm cannon.
Wily 2nd time:
Use Bubble Lead. Whatever you do, don't make contact with the alien
doing so will hack off about half of your energy. Notice the pattern in
which the creature moves (it's the same pattern that its holographic
projector makes after you defeat it, of course, since the alien was just
a hologram). It's moving in a figure 8. Keep this in mind and you should
escape with hardly a scratch.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wood Man is invincible when using his Leaf Shield, except to the
Crash Bomb. If the bomb misses a leaf, it will pass through and
hit once. If it hits a leaf, it will explode and the explosions will
hit multiple times.

On a similar note, try luring Flash Man into a corner and latch a
Crash Bomb on the wall. As it explodes, it can hit him about 3
times if he stays in place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Order

It's hard to suggest an order because unlike most of the games in the
series, this one has no real pattern of "Use this weapon on this robot
and use that robot's weapon on the next robot..." on and on down the line.
In Mega Man 2 there are tons of ways you can complete the levels and
still have the weapon you need for the next battle. Here's just one of
those ways. (For beginners, you might want to start with Air Man instead.)

Metal Man (Use Metal Blade for a one-hit victory)
Air Man (Use arm cannon or Leaf Shield. Try standing behind him.)
Crash Man (Use Air Shooter)
Bubble Man (Use Metal Blade)
Heat Man (Use Bubble Lead)
Wood Man (Use a powered-up Atomic Fire or detonate a Crash Bomb on
Wood Man's Leaf Shield, not on the Robot Master himself. Either way can
get you a single-hit victory in normal mode, though doing it with a Crash
Bomb is a bit more difficult to pull off.)
Flash Man (Use Metal Blade)
Quick Man (Use Crash Bombs and/or the Time Stopper. Try firing a Crash
Bomb at a wall and standing right below it. Quick Man will come for you
and instead land on the explosion!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stars change
After you select which stage you are going to, and the screen that
shows the boss of that stage is on, press and hold the A and B Buttons,
then press Start. The stars above and below the picture of the boss
will change to the little bird-like creatures that inhabit many of the
stages.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tricks
If you pause in the middle of a jump, you'll reset Mega Man's
downward velocity. If you press Start rapidly at the height of
a jump, you can coast for long distances. This also makes Mega
Man "phase out", causing most bullets to fly through you without
harm.

Use the above trick at the beginning of the final stage to fall
to the right. Then, keep running through the cave without
stopping. You should get through the dripping acid unharmed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Wily stage tips
The fourth Dr. Wily stage is laced with holographic floors.
To spot floors that aren't real, use the Bubble Lead.

For the boss of this stage, when they all fire at once, try pausing
and unpause the game. The bullets will pass right through Mega Man.

Use the above trick at the beginning of the final stage to fall
to the right. Then, keep running through the cave without stopping.
You should get through the dripping acid unharmed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Get lots of power ups and 1ups
Try using the Leaf Shield in areas where enemies will keep coming
and coming. Lots of power-ups and even 1-ups will be left behind.
